in 70 Länder weltweit.
Produktentwicklung. So schaffen wir im derzeit errichteten
Neubau »The Curve« insgesamt 260 neue Arbeitsplätze auf
fünf Etagen. Und natürlich sollen sich im neuen Gebäude
auch unsere Mitarbeiter richtig wohlfühlen!
Ein Zeichen auch für den Standort Aachen?
Ganz klar, wir investieren hier zirka 20 Millionen Euro in
den Standort und in Arbeitsplätze. Das sind klare Bekenntnisse
für Aachen. Im Herbst nächsten Jahres soll »The
Curve« – so das »Projekt« – bezugsfertig sein. Es wird das
Straßenbild des Industriegebiets signifikant verändern. Vor
allem aber alles »made in Germany« – ein geschätztes Qualitätsmerkmal
unserer Produkte in allen Märkten.
BABOR is an integral player as an innovator
and market leader in the cosmetics sector. We met
Michael Schummert, spokesperson for the Aachen
company, and he revealed their strategy to us.
BABOR, the market leader and trendsetter for skin care, can
look back at a 60-year success story. The beauty company used
to be considered a hidden champion, but it is now a constant feature
in the market place. Every year BABOR offers new, highly
innovative products. This is made possible not least through
optimal exploitation of research and development potential. As
far as trends are concerned, the company is always up-to-date
with its customised range, because their customers want to create
their own cosmetics – with their accustomed high levels of quality,
it goes without saying. As a result of digitisation, increased
attention is being paid to the demands of Generation Y, who
have brought about a decrease in the age of the formerly rather
more mature target market. The care experts are very successful
even outside Germany. BABOR supply their products to 70
countries, and their main export market is in the USA. But
the other countries, too, are strategically important markets. The
amount of total revenue is split fifty-fifty between international
business and Germany. As a result of the constant expansion of
the business, their site no longer has the capacity needed, thus
they are currently developing a new building: »The Curve«.
With its curvaceous, feminine design, the plan is for this to be
BABOR’s new flagship and showroom. A total of 260 new
workspaces, where the aim is that staff should feel at home, are
being created on five storeys. Building of the new site started at
the beginning of this year, and it should be completely ready for
occupancy in the autumn of 2018. By staying in Aachen, the
beauty giant is making a firm commitment to the city.
