In today’s world of comprehensive dentistry, there are numerous<br />
options for treatment plans and material choices. It is critical that<br />
the dentist and dental technician work together to choose the<br />
best combinations of options given the biological, mechanical,<br />
esthetic and biomechanics needs of patient. And I’ve recognized<br />
that blending of traditional concepts matched with some of<br />
the newer, for example CAD/CAM technologies is appropriate.<br />
A ceramist should have options to reproduce the color for each<br />
different material and restorative design.<br />

In this case, according to the difficulty of porcelain work with the<br />
screw retain type superstructure, due to the massive volume of the<br />
zirconia framework, the machine milled titanium bar substructure<br />
is designed. Therefore its porcelain work has less risk from the heat<br />
control.<br />
Tooth #12 through #22 is micro layering technique and others are<br />
stain technique.<br />

The mechanical properties of zirconia make it the suitable material for the framework of<br />
the restoration. Esthetics is achieved with the micro porcelain layering of the minimal facial<br />
cutback design. Hybrid method is the fusion of accuracy ensured by the high-tech dental<br />
equipment and artistry ensured by human hands.<br />

Graduated from the Ai-Shi Dental Technology<br />
School in 1992 and completed post graduate<br />
courses at the International Dental Academy in<br />
Tokyo. He was mentored by Mr. Naoki Aiba and<br />
Mr. Willi Geller through their prestigious Oral<br />
Design Courses.<br />
Mr. <strong>Goto</strong> has been the Laboratory Manager for<br />
the Sheets, Paquette and Wu Dental Practice,<br />
a private prosthodontic practice in Newport<br />
Beach, California since 2004.<br />
He is an accomplished laboratory technician,<br />
ceramist, and educator with over 25 years of<br />
experience in Japan, Canada and the United<br />
States, and he has served as an international<br />
instructor for Noritake in Europe, Central<br />
America, South America, Japan and the<br />
United States. Mr. <strong>Goto</strong>’s work can be found in<br />
peer-reviewed publications worldwide and he<br />
lectures and teaches hands-on courses on both<br />
national and international levels.<br />
