DSP Jahrbuch 2016

Football
This year the football season started off with the Olympiad that was
held at the DSP. Both boys and girls teams did extremely well, with
the boys ending 2nd behind DHPS and the girls ending 3rd. They
played an attractive brand of football and did the DSP proud.
Mini-soccer (u7 – u9)
We played a few mini tournaments and the teams did extremely
well by winning and drawing more games than they lost. The main
aim of these small tournaments is for the kids to enjoy themselves,
which they did.
Primary school (u10 – u13)
2016 was a very successful season for the teams, with the u10’s
reaching the semi-final of the competition. Unfortunately they lost
on penalties to the eventual winners of the cup. The boys played
very well and were very unlucky to have lost in the semi-final.
The u13’s also did extremely well this year, also losing in semi-final
of the shield competition. The DSP is very proud of Thilo Preusse for
making the 2016 FAPPS squad (Northern Gauteng school team). He
presented himself with distinction at the tournament, which was
held in KZN.
The u10 and u13 teams competed in the EduPlex 7-a-side tournament
with the u10’s ending 3rd and the u13’s walking away as the
eventual winners of the tournament. Well done to all the boys and
girls who competed this year - I am extremely proud of all of you.
High School (u17 & u20)
Both teams did very well this year with the u17’s ending 4th in their
league. The u17’s had a lot of youngsters in their side who gained
valuable experience by playing with the older boys.
The u20 team ended 2nd in their league. They did this by only
losing one game during the season to the eventual league winners.
Well done boys, you did the DSP and me very proud.
Kick & Code
Thanks to the sponsors, SAP & Autohaus Centurion, this was the
second year that the coaches from Eintracht Frankfurt came to the
DSP for a football clinic. All the kids had an enjoyable week as they
were kept busy with football and coding all day.
