1991 gestaltet der spanische Maler und Designer,<br />
Bildhauer und Architekt César Manrique einen<br />
<strong>BMW</strong> 730i. Dabei thematisiert er seine Vorstellungen<br />
von Bewegung: „Meine Idee bestand darin,<br />
das Auto so zu gestalten, dass es den Eindruck<br />
vermittelt, ohne jeden Widerstand durch den<br />
Raum zu gleiten.“ Mit großzügig geschwungenen<br />
Linien – wie sie auch für seine Architektur typisch<br />
sind – und leuchtenden Farben ist ihm dies zweifellos<br />
gelungen.<br />
Colour and movement.<br />
In 1991, Spanish painter, designer, sculptor and architect<br />
César Manrique designed a <strong>BMW</strong> 730i. The theme<br />
was his visualisation of movement: “My idea was [to<br />
paint] the <strong>BMW</strong> car to appear as if it were gliding through<br />
space without encountering any form of resistance.”<br />
His expansive, sweeping lines – also hallmarks of his<br />
architecture – coupled with glowing colours ensured that<br />
he achieved this aim.<br />
