Washing (A.4)
Washing, as used in the production of frozen vegetables, needs 0 – 5 kWhe/t frozen vegetables.
Certain vegetables, e.g. sprouts and cauliflowers, do not require any washing and thus do not
consume energy [32, Van Bael J., 1998]. Table 3.34 shows the electricity consumption for the
washing of vegetables.
