L.L. Are you enchanted by historic-yet-mundane gl<strong>am</strong>our in<br />
<strong>St</strong>. <strong>Anton</strong> or do you prefer the rustic charm of old parlours?<br />
K.W. I was shown wonderful restaurants in <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Anton</strong> and I’ve<br />
never had such wonderful taste experiences before! I love Tyrolean<br />
fare and prefer more private corners. On ski days I’ve eaten up on<br />
the mountain and in the village. The level of quality is extremely<br />
high wherever you go. And I have great après ski memories of<br />
<strong>St</strong>. <strong>Anton</strong>, too.<br />
L.L. Honestly – what does <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Anton</strong> mean to you personally?<br />
What characteristics does a place need or what feelings should<br />
it convey in order to become a (holiday) home you don’t want<br />
to miss?<br />
K.W. I first c<strong>am</strong>e to <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Anton</strong> in the 1980s while I was working<br />
for Radio 1 and I immediately fell in love with the place. I met<br />
wonderful people, including my good friends Wilma and Heinrich<br />
from the tourism agency and wonderful skiing instructors!<br />
I’ve also spent Christmas here a few times and I must say that you<br />
can’t find that perfect “Christmas feeling” anywhere else!<br />
L.L. Speaking of which: You're going to publish the deluxe<br />
version of your Christmas album “Wilde Winter Songbook”<br />
this year. What is it that makes your Christmas songs so<br />
special?<br />
K.W. I have always loved Christmas songs<br />
including traditional carols since I was a child.<br />
Writing and recording this album was a labour<br />
of love, inspired by all the Christmas songs that<br />
c<strong>am</strong>e before, but wanting to bring something<br />
new and personal to the Christmas table. I have<br />
always loved the magic of Christmas for all sorts<br />
of reasons, but most importantly because it is a<br />
time to be with the ones you love.<br />
