Das weltweit einzige Flughafenorchesterfeiert 2013 sein zehnjähriges Bestehen.›Destination‹, the new CD of the Zurich Airport Big Band was ceremoniouslychristened on 5 May. It is a collection of up-tempo pieces interpretedby the Zurich Airport Orchestra. The only airport orchestra in the worldcelebrates its 10th anniversary in 2013.Destination, der Name der neuen CD, verbindet ganz im Sinne desFlughafens Zürich die Schweiz mit Destinationen in Europa und Übersee.Die Ziele der musikalischen Weltreise reichen von A wie Amorosobis W wie Won’t You Be My Neighbour. Die CD-Taufe mit Matinéeim Airport Center wurde von der Sängerin Sarah Fuchs und durchComedy und Magie von Peter Löhmann begleitet. Mitten im Treibendes Flughafens begeisterte das Orchester mit der Präsentation ihrerneuen Musikstücke.Die Big Band besteht aus 25 Musikerinnen und Musikern die alle inirgendeiner Verbindung zum Flughafen Zürich stehen. Piloten, Techniker,Feuerwehrleute, Vielflieger, Anwohner des Flughafens und vielemehr sind Teil der musikalischen Gruppe. So widerspiegelt das ZurichAirport Orchestra auch die Vielfalt der Berufe am Flughafen Zürichund lebt sein Motto ‹Musik verbindet›. Geleitet wird die Big Bandvon Andreas Kessler. Er ist Komponist, Arrangeur und Trompeter undstudierte klassische Trompete am Konservatorium. Das Orchester wurdeim Jahr 2003 gegründet und hat seither schon zahlreiche Höhepunktemit einer ersten CD The Sound of Zurich Airport und verschiedenenTourneen feiern können.Das Zurich Airport Orchestra kann für verschiedenste Anlässegebucht werden. The CD launch and matineeperformance in the Airport Center was accompanied by singer SarahFuchs and included the comedy and magic of Peter Löhmann. Amidstthe airport bustle, the orchestra delighted the audience with its newmusical pieces.The Big Band consists of 25 musicians who are all connected to theairport in some way. He is a composer, arrangerand trumpeter and studied classical trumpet at the Conservatory.
