Fabric Filters and Tube FiltersCleaning by counterflow flushingApart from the fabric filters which are cleaned by compressed air, fabric filters can also becleaned by counterflow flushing.These kinds of filter systems consist of several separate chambers configured in parallel.Here, the raw gas flows from the inside to the outside through the tube filter, and the dustcake is deposited on the inside of the filter tubes.To dedust the filter tubes, the respective chamber is decoupled from the raw gas flow andhence put briefly out of operation. The filter elements are flushed with cleaned flue gas toremove the dust deposits in a counterflow procedure. The filter tubes are deformed inwards,causing the dust cake to break up and drop into the dust collection bunker. The flushinggas escapes through the raw gas intake and flows together with the raw gas through theoperating filter chambers.Depending on the dust characteristics, occasionally additional vibration devices are employedto support the dedusting process of the filter tubes.Flue Gas Cleaning 21
