USER MANUALENGLISHSIDE BROOM HEIGHT CHECK AND ADJUSTMENTNOTEBrooms with harder or softer bristles are available.This procedure is applicable to all types of brooms.BA1. Check the side broom distance from the ground, accordingto the following procedure:• Drive the machine on a level ground.• Keep the machine stationary, lower the side broomsand turn them on for a few seconds.• Stop and lift the side brooms, then move the machine.• Check that the side broom prints are as shown in thefigure (A and B, Fig. 8).If the print is not within specifications, adjust the sidebroom height according to the following procedure.2. Engage the parking brake.3. Turn the ignition key (61) to “0”.4. Remove the right or left door (12 or 13) by turning thefasteners.NOTEThe right door fasteners must be turned with a tool.Figure 8CP1005975. For the right side broom, operate on the idle gear byloosening the ring nut (C, Fig. 9) and by adjusting theadjuster (D) until the correct print (A, Fig. 8) is achieved.Then fasten the adjuster with the ring nut (C, Fig. 9).For the left side broom, operate on the idle gear byloosening the ring nut (E) and by adjusting the adjuster (F)until the correct print (B, Fig. 8) is achieved. Then fastenthe adjuster with the ring nut (E, Fig. 9).6. Perform step 1 again to check the proper adjustment of theside broom height.7. When the broom is too worn to be adjusted, replace it asshown in the next paragraph.NOTEIf necessary, the side broom tilting can be adjustedtoo (see the procedure in the Service Manual).DEFFigure 9P1005981464815000 - SW4000 25
