Description
Neutralisation stages are necessary, for example, when high pH values result from strip-
ping or extremely low pH values result from ammonia conversion. Since high salanisation
takes place as a result, it needs to be tested precisely whether a neutralisation process is
required. At the Oberding animal carcass disposal plant, for example, the neutralisation
process with 31 per cent hydrochloric acid leads to an increase in spec. conductibility of
17 to 33 % (at a pH value of the effluent of approx. 10 in terms of inflow and 7.5 in terms
of outflow).
