Genthin animal carcass disposal plant example, gemeinsame Behandlung mit Kom- munalabwasser? The clarification plant of the Genthin animal carcass disposal plant was designed for a raw material processing capacity of 580 Mg/d and dimensioned for full nitrogen elimina- tion. At this animal carcass disposal plant, 2 basins operated in parallel are utilised in con- junction with intermittent aeration. For the purposes of mechanical preliminary purification a fat separator, as well as flotation are utilised. Thereafter, domestic waste water eigenes oder kommunales? jeweils welche Anteile?is channelled into the effluent. It is then first transported to the clarification plant 2,5 km away through a pressure pipe into a mixing and equalisation basin (1.250 m 3 ; with a reserve of 1.750 m 3 ) and is then divided in paral- lel towards 2 activation basins of 6.240 m 3 each, in each of which 1.365 lfdm aerators and 3 stirring devices are installed. The basins are in alternation aerated at intervals (aerobic condition) or simply circulated (anoxic condition (time ratio approx. 2:1)). At a dry sludge content of 3g/l the BSB5, the sludge load is 0,08 kg/(kg×d) (Qd: 700 m 3 /d; Bd (BSB5): approx. 3.000 kg/d). A Dortmund tank serves as the final treatment basin before the effluent is directed into the Elbe-Havel Channel through a fining pond (approx. 2.200 m 3 ).
