With a service life of 15 years, an interest rate of 7 % and a depreciation time of only 10
years the additional direct investment costs could be recovered in 2,2 years, i.e. the an-
nual operating costs of the Binary Ice plant including depreciation were immediately re-
coverable
This calculation does not take into account the reported significantly reduced weight
losses, and the availability even during the hottest summertime (where the other two
plants with direct expansion and brine continue to have problems until today). The plant is
under semi-annual preventive maintenance.
