Förderverein des
Naturkundemuseums
Der Freundeskreis des Museums für Naturkunde
Chemnitz e. V. wurde im Februar
1996 mit der Aufgabe einer ideellen und
materiellen Förderung des Naturkundemuseums
gegründet. Heute zählt der Verein
135 Mitglieder aus verschiedenen europäischen
Staaten. Der Förderverein sieht sich
in der Tradition der 1859 gegründeten Naturwissenschaftlichen
Gesellschaft zu
Chemnitz. Dabei unterstützt er das Museum
insbesondere bei der Bewahrung
und Erweiterung der wertvollen geo- und
biowissenschaftlichen Sammlungen sowie
der naturwissenschaftlichen Museumsbibliothek.
Ferner tritt der Verein für die umfassende
Erforschung und attraktive Präsentation
des „Steinernen Waldes” ein.
Friends of the Museum
of Natural History
The circle of friends of the Museum of Natural
History Chemnitz was founded in February
1996 with the task to support the
museum of natural history financially and
spiritually. Today, the association has 135
members from several European countries.
The (OUT aid association) sponsoring organisation
considers itself as the continuation
of the Society of Natural History in
Chemnitz, which was founded in 1859. Its
special focus is on supporting the museum
in preserving and expanding the valuable
geo-scientific and bio-scientific collections
according to the concept of the museum,
as well as on offering support for the natural-scientific
library of the museum. Moreover,
the association is committed to the
comprehensive exploration and attractive
presentation of the ”Petrified Forest“.
