Lichtverschmutzung (aus demengl. Light Pollution) vorzugehen unddamit den Energieverbrauch zu senkenund einen dunklen, natürlichenHimmel für Mensch und Umweltzurückzugewinnen.Als häufigste Definition wird LightPollution als die Aufhellung des Nachthimmelsdurch künstliche Lichtquellen,deren Licht in der Atmosphäre gestreutwird, bezeichnet. Luftmoneküle, Aerosoleund Dunst in der Atmosphärereflektieren das Licht und hellen denHimmelshintergrund auf – dadurchwird die Sicht auf die Sterne beschränkt.Die Natur leidet zunehmendan den künstlich erzeugten hellenNächten.Die Straßenbeleuchtung ist eineder Hauptursachen für diese „Lichtglocken“über den Städten und trägtbis zu 50% zur Aufhellung des Himmelsbei. Eine wesentliche Lösung istder Einsatz von Strahlern und Flutern,die ihr komplettes Licht nicht oberhalbder Horizontale abgeben – dies sindStrahler mit planer Glasabdeckung.Das Licht dort hin zu lenken, wo eserforderlich ist, und nicht in den Himmel,spart Energie und verringertdamit zusätzlich den CO 2 Ausstoß.Um die IDA-Zertifizierung zu erhalten,werden die Leuchten einer strengenlichttechnischen Prüfung unterzogen.Die Zertifizierung von Leuchten durchdie IDA bestätigt eine effektive Nutzungdes Lichtes zur Beleuchtungdes gewünschten Objektes ohne dieUmwelt und den nächtlichen Himmelzu verschmutzen.Das Zertifikat „Dark-sky friendly“erhielten SILL-Strahler aus denLeuchten Gruppen 453 (Citystrahler),455 (Planstrahler 400) und 465, 466und 467 (Planstrahler 2000).Mit dieser Zertifizierung werden25 Jahre Pionierarbeit von SILL fürdie Entwicklung der StrahlersystemeAnerkennung gezollt.
