obituary nachrufPascal EtienneIt is with sadness and deep emotions that the FédérationFrancaise de Ski informs you that Pascal Etienne passedaway at the age of 43.Pascal had bravely fought against a fatal illness. He was thecoach of the French women’s national Biathlon team from1998 to 2006 and later was coach of the French Junior andB-team. He also was the Director of the French NationalBiathlon Training Center in Premanon. Under his leadership,the French athletes celebrated numerous successesincluding an Olympic Gold Medal in the Sprint of the 2006OWG in Torino by Florence Baverel and a Bronze Medal ofthe French Relay team. His leadership led to World Championshiptitles by Corinne Niogret, Sandrine Bailly and SylvieBecaert, the Overall World Cup win of Sandrine Baillyin 2005 and several medals at IBU Youth and Junior WorldChampionships.
