Die ,Gemeinschaft des Hauses’
Religion, Heiratsstrategien und transnationale Identität türkischer Alawi-/Nusairi-Migranten in Deutschland
Unauffällig und weitgehend unbeachtet unter den 2,6 Millionen Einwanderern mit “türkischem Migrationshintergrund“
existiert in Deutschland seit einem halben Jahrhundert eine aus der Südosttürkei stammende ethnisch-religiöse Gruppe,
die sich selbst als Alawî/Nuÿairi bezeichnet und deren Mitglieder sich als Nachfahren der von Ali und Fatima begründeten
Linie der ahl al-bayt, der „Gemeinschaft des Hauses“ verstehen. Mit der vorliegenden Arbeit wird erstmals ein
umfassender ethnographischer Einblick in die Lebenswelt der alawitischen Migranten in Deutschland eröffnet, die Außenstehenden
bisher gänzlich verschlossen war. Im Fokus der Untersuchung stehen die Wandlungsprozesse, die sich
durch transnationale Beziehungsgeflechte im Bereich der religiösen Praxis, der Lebenszyklusrituale und der Heiratstrategien
ergeben haben.

Wege einer antirassistischen Anthropologie
Franz Boas (1858 –1942), eine der bedeutendsten Persönlichkeiten der „Wissenschaft vom Menschen“ im frühen 20.
Jahrhundert, begründete die Cultural Anthropology in Amerika und etablierte mithin die Anthropologie in den USA als
eine akademische Disziplin. Geboren und aufgewachsen in einer jüdischen Kaufmannsfamilie in Minden, Westfalen,
studierte Boas in Heidelberg, Kiel und Bonn Physik, Mathematik und Geographie. 1883/84 begab er sich auf eine geographische
Arktisexpedition nach Baffin-Land, welche sein genuines Interesse an Ethnologie und Anthropologie erneut
entfachte. Boas emigrierte schließlich in die USA und bekleidete von 1899 bis zu seiner Emeritierung im Jahre 1936 als
ordentlicher Professor einen Lehrstuhl für Anthropologie an der Columbia Universität von New York.

Football in the Cameroonian Social Imagination
Examining the social and political significance of football in Cameroon, Bea Vidacs’s anthropological study goes beyond
sports. Encompassing the period between 1994 and 2006, the work throws light upon changes in Cameroonians’ political
attitudes and interpretations of politics and of football as the revolutionary fervor of the early 1990s waned over time
and increasingly turned into political disillusionment. Taking the ethos of sport as an ethnographic starting point she
addresses such issues as politics, power, powerlessness, identity construction on a local, national and international scale,
as well as the meaning of the postcolonial experience both on an individual and national level.
