Wer Raum zum Spielen braucht, ist, besonders in der Großstadt, auf
einem Spielplatz richtig. Friedrich Fröbel (Pädagoge 1782 – 1852) sagt
dazu: „Das Spielen ist der höchste Ausdruck der menschlichen Entwicklung
in der Kindheit, denn nur dies allein zeigt, was in der kindlichen Seele
vorgeht.“
Dieses Buch soll dazu beitragen, die Erwachsenen daran zu erinnern, welche
Bedeutung Spielraum für die menschliche Entwicklung hat, und dazu
beitragen, dass im Erscheinungsbild der Großstädte, die von den Bedürfnissen
und Vorstellungen der Erwachsenenwelt geprägt sind, auch an die
Bedürfnisse der Jüngsten in unserer Gesellschaft gedacht wird und ausreichend
geeigneter Spielraum zur Verfügung gestellt wird. Der „Spielraum“
soll Erwachsene daran erinnern, welche Freude und welche Lebenslust in
der eigenen Kindheit von diesen Räumen ausgegangen ist. Diese Möglichkeit
des Aufwachsens muss unseren Kindern erhalten bleiben. Es ist also
ein kognitiver Merkposten und keine Kritik. Es handelt sich natürlich nur
um einen Ausschnitt der Spielräume in unserer Stadt und die spontanen
Äußerungen der Jugendlichen, denen wir die Spielräume vorgestellt haben,
zeigen deutlich, dass alle Räume zu individuellen und kreativen Phantasien
anregen. Wir haben ausdrücklich die Spielräume so ausgesucht und
dargestellt, dass es sich um Orte in jeder Großstadt handeln könnte. Wir,
das sind ein Kommunikations Designer und Fotograf, Andres Huth und ich,
Klaus Korte, Sozialarbeiter und u.a. Fachberater für Spielplätze.

For those who need space for playing, in particular in the city, the playground
is exactly the right place. Friedrich Froebel (educationalist, 1782 – 1852)
said: “Play is the highest expression of human development in childhood, for it
alone is the free expression of what is in a child’s soul.”
This book is to help remind adults of the paramount importance that play space
has for the human development and ensure that the needs of the youngest members
of our society are catered for and find expression in the appearance of cities,
which are characterized by the needs and ideas of adults, and that adequate
play space is provided. The “play space” is to remind adults of the joy and love
of life that these areas conveyed in their own childhood. The opportunity for our
children to grow up this way must be preserved. It is thus a cognitive memorandum
and not intended as criticism. Of course, it covers only some of the play areas
in our city and the spontaneous comments of young people to whom we presented
these play areas clearly show that all spaces inspire creative thinking,
imagination and play. We have specifically chosen and presented play spaces
that can be places in any city. We, these are a communications designer and
photographer, Andres Huth, and me, Klaus Korte, a social worker and, among
other things, consultant for playgrounds.
