6. ANCHORING THE MACHINE6.1 Preliminary checks before anchoringDANGER: The SUPERTIRFOR machine mustbe anchored to a fixed anchoring point. Never use a riggingin which the machine moves along the wire rope.DANGER: Faulty anchoring can result in a seriousaccident. Before performing any work, you must alwayscheck that the SUPERTIRFOR machines and wire ropeanchoring points are sufficiently strong with respect to theforces to be applied (for lifting or pulling).To anchor the machine, proceed as follows:1) Swivel the hook latch to the open position by applyingpressure on the end (hook nose side) and maintain it inthis position.2) Run the anchoring sling between the hook nose and thesafety latch.3) Release the latch to allow it to return to its original closedposition.6.2.3 Anchoring TU32H with optional hookThe TU32H can be equipped, optionally, with a hook withsafety latch (figure 26, page C).For installation of the hook, proceed as instructed in §6.2.1.For anchoring, proceed as instructed in §6.2.2.GBDANGER: It is prohibited to use theSUPERTIRFOR wire rope as a sling by running it aroundan object with the hook attached to the wire rope loop(figure 12, page A: prohibited setup ; figure 13, page A:normal use).IMPORTANT: The SUPERTIRFOR machinesshould be anchored by connecting them to the fixedanchoring point with an appropriate capacity sling.The TU16H model is anchored by a hook equipped with asafety latch (figure 18, page B). In all cases, the machinesmust be anchored so that the safety latch comes back to itsclosed position, bearing against the hook nose (figure 18,page B). These safety rules also apply to the hook usedwith the SUPERTIRFOR wire rope.The TU32H machine is anchored by a removableanchoring pin inserted through the two lugs on the casing(figures 23 and 24, page B) and locked by a pin equippedwith a spring-ring with two positions: locked (figure 25,page B) and unlocked (figure 27, page C).6.2 Anchoring6.2.1 Anchoring TU32H with pin (figure 23,page B)To anchor the machine, proceed as follows (anchoring withpin):1) Turn the spring ring of the anchoring pin safety pin to thelocked position (figure 27, page C).2) Remove the safety pin from the anchoring pin.3) Pull the anchoring pin to clear it (figure 24, page B).4) Run the anchoring sling through the two lugs of thecasing.5) Push in the anchoring pin, engaging it again through thelug from which it was disengaged.6) Place the safety pin in the hole provided at the end of theanchoring pin, pushing it fully in.7) Turn the spring ring on the safety pin, making sure it isproperly locked on the anchoring pin to prevent removalof the safety pin.6.2.2 Anchoring TU16H with hookThe standard TU16H is equipped with a hook with safetylatch (figure 18, page B). The safety latch, with integratedspring, is always maintained in the closed position (latch incontact with hook nose).DANGER: To ensure safe use of the machine,always make sure that the anchoring components, hook orpin, are correctly locked before any load is applied to themachine:- TU16H: safety latch in contact with hook nose (figure 18,page B).- TU32H with anchoring pin: spring ring locked onanchoring pin (figure 25, page B).- TU32H with optional hook: safety latch in contact withhook nose (figure 26, page C).7. OPERATING THE MACHINE7.1 Checks before useThe following points should be checked before using themachine:- anchoring,- ram attachment fittings and brackets must be securelymounted,- hooks and safety pins on SUPERTIRFOR machinesmust be in the locked position,- hydraulic oil level of hydraulic power pack must becorrect,- oil and fuel levels of gasoline engine must be correct,- electrical power supply must be compatible with electricmotor,- direction of rotation of electric motor must be correct,- alignment between anchoring hook of SUPERTIRFORmachine and load to be pulled or lifted must be correct,- wire rope must be in good condition (see chapt.11).DANGER: It is prohibited to operate the machine inthe reverse operating direction to the point where the endof the SUPERTIRFOR wire rope comes near to thecasing.IMPORTANT: It is prohibited to operate the machinein the forward operating direction to the point where thesleeve of the SUPERTIRFOR wire rope hook comes intocontact with the casing.7.2 Start up the motor of the hydraulic powerpack7.2.1 Hydraulic power pack with electric motorConnect the power connector to the appropriate powersource.Press and hold the pushbutton on the control unit (item 14,figure 1, page 7).- 14 -
