Before installing and using this equipment, you must beperfectly familiar with the information contained in thismanual and you must comply with the utilization andsafety instructions given to ensure safe use of theequipment. A copy of this manual should be available toall equipment users. Additional copies can be providedon request.2. Do not use the equipment if any of the plates mountedon the equipment are damaged and illegible, or if any ofthe markings, as indicated at the end of this manual, areno longer legible. In case of a damaged informationplate, identical plates can be supplied on request andshould be fastened to the equipment before continuinguse of the equipment.3. Make sure that any person to whom you have entrusteduse of this equipment is perfectly familiar with theinformation contained in this manual and is able tosatisfy the safety requirements involved by the purposefor which the equipment is used. This manual should bein the user’s possession.4. This equipment must only be used in compliance withthe applicable safety standards and regulationsconcerning installation, use, maintenance andinspection of lifting and pulling machines.5. For all professional purposes, this equipment must beplaced under the responsibility of a person who isperfectly familiar with the applicable regulations and whohas the necessary authority to ensure application ofthese regulations by all users.6. Any person using this equipment for the first time mustcheck, in a risk-free environment, before applying theload, and on a limited lifting height, that he has fullyunderstood all the requirements for safe, efficientoperation of the equipment.7. Setup and operation of the equipment must only beperformed under conditions ensuring operator safety incompliance with the regulations applicable to theequipment category.8. Each time, before using the equipment, check that theequipment and its accessories are visibly in goodcondition.9. TRACTEL ® shall not be held liable for use of thisequipment in any setup configuration not described inthis manual.10. Any changes to the equipment not supervised byTRACTEL ® , including removal of parts from theequipment, shall release TRACTEL ® from any liability.11. TRACTEL ® only guaranties operation of the equipmentprovided it is equipped with a genuine TRACTEL ®SUPERTIRFOR wire rope in accordance with thespecifications indicated in this manual.12. Any equipment assembly or disassembly not describedin this manual, or any repair performed outsideTRACTEL ® supervision will release TRACTEL ® fromany liability, especially as may concern replacement oforiginal parts by parts from another source.13. Any intervention on the SUPERTIRFOR wire ropeaimed at modifying or repairing it outside TRACTEL ®supervision will release TRACTEL ® from any liabilitysubsequent to the modification or repair performed.14. This equipment must never be used for any operationsother than those described in this manual.The equipment should never be used with loadsexceeding the maximum lifting capacity indicated onthe equipment. The equipment should never be used inan explosive atmosphere.15. It is strictly prohibited to use this equipment for lifting ormoving persons.16. When it is necessary to lift a load using several units, atechnical study by a qualified technician must first becarried out to ensure proper installation and operationin compliance with the technical study, in particular toensure an even distribution of the load underappropriate conditions. TRACTEL ® shall not be heldliable for use of any TRACTEL ® device in combinationwith other lifting devices of a different manufacturer.17. The machine must be anchored to a fixed point and toa structure which is sufficiently strong, in accordancewith the applicable safety coefficient, to withstand themaximum lifting capacity indicated in this manual. Ifseveral units are used, the strength of the structure andthe anchor point must be consistent with the number ofmachines used in accordance with their maximumlifting capacity.18. During the lifting operations, when moving up or down,the operator must always have a clear, uninterruptedview of the load.19. To ensure safe use of the equipment, it should bevisually inspected and serviced regularly. Dependingon the nature of the environment in which theequipment is used, check regularly for any signs ofcorrosion.20. Never take position or circulate under the load. Thearea located under the load should be indicated andaccess-prohibited.21. Keeping the SUPERTIRFOR wire rope in goodcondition is essential to safety and correct operation ofthe machine. The condition of the SUPERTIRFORwire rope should be checked each time it is used asindicated in the “ wire rope ” section. AnySUPERTIRFOR wire rope showing any signs ofdamage must be immediately and definitively removedfrom use.22. When the equipment is not used, it should be placedout of reach of all persons not authorized to use it.23. The equipment must be periodically checked by aTRACTEL ® certified repair agent as indicated in thismanual.24. During use, the operator must ensure that theSUPERTIRFOR wire rope is constantly tensioned bythe load and, in particular, that the wire rope is nottemporarily neutralized by an obstacle when bringing aload down, as this could result in rupture of theSUPERTIRFOR cable when the load comes freefrom its obstacle.25. For definitive removal from use of the machine, theequipment should be discarded under conditionspreventing any future use of the equipment.All environment protection regulations must beobserved.IMPORTANT: For all professional uses, especiallywhen the machine is to be used by employee personnel,you must comply with all work regulations applicable toinstallation, maintenance and use of the equipment, inparticular as concerns the required inspections: inspectionon first use by user, periodic inspections, and inspectionsafter disassembly or repair.- 4 -
