Viewing the Connections - Side Connectors1. CI Slot is used for inserting a CI card. A CI card allows you to view allthe channels that you subscribe to. For more information, see “CommonInterface” section.2.3.Side USB input.Note: Codec update cannot be performed.Side HDMI Input is for connecting a device that has an HDMI socket.4. Headphone jack is used for connecting an external headphone to thesystem. Connect to the HEADPHONE jack to listen to the TV fromheadphones (optional).5. Video Input is used for connecting video signals of external devices.Connect the video cable between the VIDEO IN socket on the TV and theVIDEO OUT jack on your device.6. Audio Inputs are used for connecting audio signals of external devices.Connect the audio cable between the AUDIO INPUTS on the TV and theAUDIO OUTPUT jacks on your device. Note: If you connect a device tothe TV via the VIDEO INPUT, you should also connect your device withan audio cable to the AUDIO INPUTS of the TV to enable audio.Power ConnectionIMPORTANT: The TV set is designed to operate on 220-240V AC, 50 Hz.• After unpacking, allow the TV set to reach the ambient room temperature before you connect the set to themains.• Plug the power cable to the mains socket outlet.Aerial Connection• Connect the aerial or cable TV plug to the AERIAL INPUT socket located at the rear of the TV.English - 55 -
Using Digital MultimediaConnectors• You can connect USB devices to your TV by usingthe USB input of the TV. This feature allows you todisplay/play JPG, video (optional) and MP3 lesstored in a USB stick.• It is possible that certain types of USB devices (e.g.MP3 Players) may not be compatible with this TV.• You may back up your les before making anyconnections to the TV set in order to avoid anypossible data loss. Note that manufacturer will notbe responsible for any le damage or data loss.• Do not pull out USB module while playing a le.• The TV supports only FAT32 disk formatting. NTFSformat is not supported. If you connect a USB diskwith NTFS format, “usb is unformatted” osd willbe displayed.CAUTION: Quickly plugging and unpluggingUSB devices, is a very hazardous operation.Especially, do not repeatedly quickly plugand unplug the drive. This may causephysical damage to the USB player andespecially the USB device itself.SIDE VIEWUSB MEMORYConnecting the LCD TV to a PCFor displaying your computer’s screen image onyour LCD TV, you can connect your computer to theTV set.• Power off both computer and display before makingany connections.• Use 15-pin D-sub display cable to connect a PC tothe LCD TV.• When the connection is made, switch to PC source.See “Input selection” section.• Set the resolution that suits your viewing requirements.Resolution information can be found in the appendixparts.USB Memory Connection• Plug your USB device to the USB input of the TV.Note: USB hard disk drives are not supported.• If the plugged USB disk is not recognised, pleasereinsert the disk.• It is recommended that you connect your USBdevice directly to the USB input of the TV. Somecompatibility problems may occur if you use aseparate cable connection.Connecting to a DVD PlayerIf you want to connect a DVD player to your LCDTV, you can use connectors of the TV set. DVDplayers may have different connectors. Please referto your DVD player’s instruction book for additionalinformation. Power off both the TV and the devicebefore making any connections.Note: Cables shown in the illustration are notsupplied.• If your DVD player has an HDMI socket, you canconnect via HDMI. When you connect to DVD playeras illustrated below, switch to HDMI source. See,“Input Selection” section.• Most DVD players are connected throughCOMPONENT SOCKETS.
