Modern synthetic fibres are very similar to tratra- ditional natural fibres and in many ways even 

surpass them. The inception of new materials 

suitable for daily use occurred in �� with the 

defining of of the theory of polymers. By �� it 

was known how to manufacture all currently 

utilized artificial fibres, but the actual great 

era of synthetic fibres started with the manu- 

facturing of nylon. The turn of the millennium 

saw the expansion and improvement of synthetic 

fibre production technology and its ap- 

plication in the textile industry. Polyolefines 

come closest to the concept of fibres that 

are suitable for the manufacture of clothing, 

which in addition to the regular attributes of 

classic materials also have what is called “performance”; 

that means the ability to outstand-

ingly draw moisture away while maintaining 

an optimum temperature. They have excellent 

attributes. They are the lightest, strongest and 

non-absorbent, and also the warmest and most 

elastic of synthetic fibres. MOIRA TG �� ® is 

a fibre with a unique patented cross-section. 

The secret of the fibre lies in the shape of its 

cross-section, which resembles a five-pointed 

star. This doubles the circumference of the 

fibre while simultaneously creating troughs 

where capillary moisture is drawn. The five- 

pointed star cross-section of MOIRA TG �� ® 

fibre significantly influences the thorough and 

fast drawing away of capillary moisture. The 

use of MOIRA TG �� ® fibre is further supported 

by its durability and strength. It is ac- 

cepted by the human body without exception.

lon. Auf der Schwelle zum neuen Jahrtausend 

haben sich auch die technologischen Bedingungen 

der Produktion, vor allem in der Textilindustrie, 

verbessert. Der Vorstellung von ei- 

ner „optimalen Leistung“ der Faser – Ableitung 

der Feuchte und Wärmeisolation, entsprechen 

am besten die Polyolefinen. Es sind die leich- 

testen, die wärmsten, Faser mit der besten 

Festigkeit, die elastischsten. Moira TG �� ® ist 

eine einmalige Faser mit einem patentierten

The philosophy behind the creation and propro- duction of functional clothing consists of the 

basic idea of offering the customer the kind of 

clothing that thoroughly understands a per- 

son’s skin and will help protect it against the 

vagaries of the weather and the effects of the 

civilization of our world. Because the well-be- 

ing of the body means the well-being of the 

mind, it is necessary to take care of one’s body, 

particularly during physical exertion or stress. 

That means when engaging in sports or just rere- laxing. The human body is a very complicated 

mechanism that works best at a body temperature 

of around ��° ��° C. Any kind of marked de- 

viation could disrupt important bodily functions. 

Socks cannot be missing from the concept of 

clothing oneself. Feet are subject to a lot of stress 

and quality socks are an important part of func- 

tional clothing. A human foot, especially the sole, 

is a very complicated mechanism. In addition to 

this, the sole is covered with the greatest surface 

concentration of sweat glands on the entire body. 

Feet must be kept at an optimum temperature; 

that means not overheated, not overcooled, not 

chafed, and not with pressure sores or blisters. 

MOIRA ® functional socks meet these requirements.

struction enables outstanding ventilation, the 

drawing away of moisture from the surface of 

the body, and optimum temperature regulation. 

Some are specially shaped and others have reinrein- forced shins to help prevent pressure sores from 

high shoes and others have a lightened instep. In 

addition to synthetic fi bres classic materials are 

also utilized in the construction of socks, ma- 

terials such as cotton and wool. The extensive 

assortment of socks is divided into model series, 

which differ in the speed of drawing away mois- 

ture, degree of thermal insulation, and degree of 

anticipated physical stress. Today, there exist a 

number of sophisticated synthetic fi bres whose 

attributes greatly exceed classic natural materi- 

als. At their forefront is polypropylene. It has the 

best attributes that are necessary for the manu- 

facture of functional clothing and socks: it is the 

lightest, least absorbent, most elastic, strongest, 

and most insulating. It is the kindest to the human 

body, which is why they make arterial re- 

placements from it. The fi bre itself, because it 

is round, does not transport moisture. However, 

combining several fi bres into thread creates cap- 

illary spaces between individual threads along 

which moisture is transported via capillary ac- 

tion. Additionally, the patented patented MOIRA TG �� ® 

polypropylene fi bre has a unique fi ve-pointed 

star cross-section, which creates an adhesive en- 

vironment for the movement of moisture already 

on the fi bre. After combining these fi bres into 

thread the drawing away of moisture is mark- 

edly greater. Body moisture is not absorbed by 

the fi bres like a sponge but enters the capillary 

spaces via capillary action (the same way blood 

enters a glass tube when drawn from the fi nger). 

It proceeds along the capillary spaces to the sursur- face of the fabric, where it is transferred to other 

layers of clothing, or gradually evaporates via 

ventilation zones. When selecting socks it is important 

to carefully consider in what surround- 

ings and in what climate they will be worn, what 

degree of physical exertion can be expected, 

and how long the socks will be worn and how 

in the shoe. MOIRA ® socks are constantly be- 

ing tested by prominent athletes under various 

climatic conditions and in everyday life. All suggestions

gut. Aus diesem diesem Grund sind wir bestrebt, uns 

um unseren Körper zu kümmern. Vor allem bei 

physischer Belastung und Stress. Selbstver- 

ständlich aber auch bei Sport und in der Freizeit. 

Der menschliche Körper ist ein komplizierter 

Mechanismus, der am optimalsten funktioniert 

bei ca. ��° ��° Grad Celsius. Jede Änderung in dieser 

Hinsicht kann die körperlichen Prozesse beein- beeinfl 

ussen. In einem Bekleidungskonzept dürfen So- 

cken natürlich nicht fehlen. Unsere Füße werden 

sehr strapaziert und qualitativ gute Socken sind 

immer ein wichtiger Teil der Funktionswäsche. 

Der Menschliche Fuß, besonders besonders die Sohle, ist 

sehr empfi ndlich und anatomisch sehr kompli- 

ziert aufgebaut. Außerdem befi nden sich an der 

Sohle, im Verhältnis zum übrigen Körper, relativ 

viele Schweißdrüsen. Füße sollte man in einem 

Wärmeoptimum halten. Nicht überwärmen oder 

unterkühlen, gegen Druckstellen oder Abschürfungen 

schützen Die Funktionssocken von MO- MO- 

IRA ® erfüllen diese Anforderungen perfekt. Sie

Das breite Sockensortiment ist in Modellreihen 

untergegliedert, bezugnehmend auf Feuchteab- 

fuhr, Wärmeisolierung und physische Belastung. 

Heute gibt es eine Reihe von synthetischen Fa- Fa- 

sern, die bessere Eigenschaften aufzeigen als 

viele Naturmaterialien. An erster Stelle ist si- 

cherlich das Polypropylen. Es hat die besten 

Eigenschaften. Es ist sehr leicht, elastisch, fest 

und selbst unter Wärmeeinfl uß unveränderlich. 

Polypropylen hat die niedrigste Aufsaug- 

fähigkeit. Auch die Verträglichkeit mit dem 

menschlichen Körper ist ausgezeichnet. Der Po- 

lypropylen wird in der Medizin als Venenersatz 

verwendet. Runde Fasern alleine transportieren 

jedoch noch keine Feuchte. Aber beim Spinnen 

mehrerer Fasern miteinander bilden sich in den 

Zweischenräumen feine Kapilaren, durch die sich 

die Feuchte bewegen kann. Zusätzlich wurde 

bei der Faser- Moira TG �� ® der Durschnitt in 

Form eines fünfzackigen Sternes entwickelt . Di- Diese 

patentierte Lösung bewirkt weitere Kapilar- 

räume, die noch bessere Eigenschaften in Bezug 

auf die Feuchteregulierung aufweisen. Die Kör- 

perfeuchte wird nicht in die Faser aufgesaugt, 

sondern an den Fasern zu den oberen Wäsche- 

schichten abgeleitet. Bei der Sockenwahl sollte 

man in Betracht ziehen, in welcher Umgebung 

man sich befi ndet, wie groß die physische Bela- 

stung sein wird und wie lange wir die Socke im 

Schuh tragen werden. Die neuen Socken- MOI-

Relax socks are for leisure time and relaxation during days without exercise in the summer. The 

reinforced heel and toe are connected on the sole via a perforated surface with a smooth knit along 

the edges. The smooth oblong surface on the sole, located under the toe joints, improves footing 

precisely in areas of great loading. The instep of the sock is made from a mesh weave, which means 

the sock has great foot ventilation. The sock ends in a high elastic hem that gently constricts. The 

hem starts around the ankle. Relax socks are not made for great physical activity, but outstand- 

ingly draw away moisture and maintain the foot at an optimum temperature. The hem and entire 

construction of the sock meet the health requirements for socks made for relaxation. 

Socke-Relax Ultralight- eignet sich für die Freizeit und zur Entspannung während der SomSom- merzeit ohne größere Aktivitäten. Die verstärkten Fersen und Spitzen sind auf der Sohle durch 

eine perforierte Fläche verbunden. Eine glatte viereckige Fläche auf der Sohle im Bereich der Ze- 

hengelenke dient als Stütze bei größeren Belastungen. Der Rißt besteht aus einem Netz, um eine 

bessere Lüftung zu gewährleisten. Die Socke ist mit einem hohen, elastischen Bündchen versehen. 

Dieses befi ndet sich im Bereich des Sprunggelenks. Die Socke- Relax Ultralight leitet optimal die 

Feuchte ab und hält die Wärme. Sie ist nicht für extreme physische Belastungen geeignet. Die 

Gesamtkonstruktion entspricht den medizinischen Anforderungen an eine gute Relaxation.

Relax socks are for leisure time and relaxation during days without exercise in the winter. The inin- ner surface of the sock is made from a plush weave with a long loop, which helps create an outstanding 

feeling of airiness and warmth. Omitting the loops under the toes and sole creates a network of canals 

that connect to ventilation zones above the toes and the boundary between the instep and sole. Ven- 

tilation canals run along the top of the instep also enabling better foot bending. The plush segments 

and canals on the sole work identically whether the sock is worn on the right or left foot. The plush 

loop is reinforced at the heel and toe. The sock ends in a high double, shallowly ribbed hem that gently 

constricts. The hem starts around the ankle. Relax socks are not made for great physical activity and 

maintain the foot at a thermal balance and degree of wetness. The construction of the sock, especially 

the hem, meets the health requirements for socks made for relaxation. 

Diese Socken sind für Freizeit und Entspannung in der Winterzeit ohne größere Anstrengungen 

gut geeignet. Die Innenseite der Socke besteht aus einem Plüschgewebe mit größeren Maschen, die

This sock, sock, developed for golf, utilizes all knowledge about the long-term loading of feet. The 

reinforced plush weave of the heel and toe is connected by an area of plush segments that dampen 

shocks conveyed to the sole. The placement of the plastic segments ensures the same conditions for 

the right and left foot and favourably stimulates a sole that is burdened by long walks. The place- 

ment of the areas of plush weave also creates a network of canals (MFC, MOIRA FOOT CANALS), 

through which air fl ows with every step. The plush weave extends from the toe to the beginning of 

the instep and eliminates possible pressure sores. The continuing smooth weave of the instep has 

two air conditioning zones into which lead ventilation canals from the bottom of the toes. An elastic 

band encircling the foot across the instep and sole prevents unwanted slippage of the sock. Plush 

loops also cover the raised heel. The short version of the sock ends in an elastic short double hem. 

The standard length sock ends in a shallowly ribbed high hem that gently constricts. The socks can 

also be worn when hiking and mountain walking. 

Für die Sportart- Golf- wurde eine Socke entwickelt, bei der man von einer längeren Belastung 

des Fußes im Schuh ausgegangen ist. Eine verstärkte Ferse und Spitze mit Plüschgewebe wird durch 

Plüschsegmente verbunden, die den Druck auf die Sohle abdämpfen. Durch diese Plüschsegmente 

wid beim Gehen die Sohle positiv stimuliert. Die Anordnung der Segmente bildet ein Kanalnetz MFC 

(MOIRA FOOT CANALS), durch das die Luft zirkulieren kann. Das Plüschgewebe befi ndet sich an der 

Spitze der Socke bis zum Rißt und verhindert dadurch Abdrücke. Das Feingewebe am Rißt enthält 

zwei Klimazonen. Damit die Socke im Schuh nicht verrutscht, wurde ein Streifen eingearbeitet. Das 

Plüschgewebe bedeckt auch die erhöhte Ferse. Die niedrige Ausführung der Socke wird mit einem 

kurzen, doppelten Bündchen abgeschlossen. Die Standartgröße hat ein hohes geripptes Bündchen. 

Die Socken werden zum Wandern und Bergsteigen empfohlen.

This is a multipurpose low sock designed to be worn with sandals. The materials from which the sock is made and its 

construction guarantee that it is pleasant to wear. Cotton is able to absorb up to 8% moisture, which as it evaporates when 

wearing sandals cools the feet. The polypropylene part of the construction of the sock draws moisture away to the outer 

side of the fabric. In order for this physical process to take place as effi ciently as possible, the weave of the fabric utilizes the 

patented MOIRA TG 900 ® fi bre with a fi ve-pointed star cross-section. The reinforced toe and heel are connected by a smooth 

strip that permanently maintains its its shape. The instep is ventilated by a mesh surface. Ventilation of the sole is ensured by 

a fi nely ribbed weave with perforated spaces between the ribs. The sock ends in a low double hem that gently constricts.

Die Socke wurde für den Radsport als Gesamtheit entwickelt. Durch die verschiedenen Zonen 

wird der Fuß optimal unterstützt. Das verstärkte Plüschgewebe am Fuß und Ferse ermöglichen 

eine gute Positionierung des Fußes im Schuh. Die einzelnen Segmente des Plüschgewebes MFC 

(Moira Foot Canals) dämpfen den Druck an der Fußoberfl äche und bilden gleichzeitig ein Netz

The heel and toe of the sock are connected by a continuing plush weave on the sole, which is 

divided into individual segments that create a system of air canals. The MFC system (MOIRA FOOT 

CANALS) enables the ventilation of the sole with every step without making a difference whether the 

sock is worn on the right or left foot. The plush weave also dampens shocks conveyed to the foot and 

means your foot comfortably fi ts inside your shoe. The air conditioning zone in the middle of the instep 

is reinforced by an elastic band encircling the foot. This prevents the unwanted slippage of the sock. Nar- 

row ventilation strips facing each other ensure good toe movement and simultaneously ventilation. The 

ankle is protected by a plush weave running up from the heel. The foot above the ankle is gently gripped 

by an elastic weave ending in a double hem. The socks are recommended for playing tennis, squash and 

badminton.

This second generation of the popular socks builds upon the basic construction of the fi rst series. 

The polypropylene fi bre outstandingly draws moisture away and thus further improves the quality concon- struction of the sock. The smooth reinforced heel and toe are connected on the sole by a strong grid 

weave with distinct perforations. The perforated grid draws moisture away well and simultaneously the 

sole is ventilated via foot movement. The double-sided lateral strip strengthens the architecture of the 

sock and encloses the one-sided mesh surface of the instep, which markedly helps the circulation of air. 

The sock ends in a high ribbed elastic hem that gently constricts. The sock is designed for sports with 

medium physical exertion in a mild climate. The sock can also be worn on a regular daily basis.

The architecture of this sock, which is designed for running sports, utilizes all available knowledge 

that supports the ideal functioning of the foot. The toe and the heel are connected by plastic segments 

of plush weave that favourably stimulate the sole. The system of MFC segments (MOIRA FOOT CA- CA- 

NALS) dampens shocks conveyed to the sole and simultaneously creates a system of ventilation canals. 

Thus with every step the sole undergoes forced ventilation, and this is without the need to have a sock 

just for the right or left foot. The instep is equipped with an air conditioning zone with an elastic band 

in the middle, which encircles the foot and prevents unwanted slippage of the sock. The ventilation strip 

under the toes, which adjoins the air conditioning zone of the instep, facilitates toe movement. The up- 

per part of the instep under the hem of the sock is lightened by smooth strips facilitating the bending 

of the foot. Under the end of the sock is a protective hem that acts like a shield preventing small stones 

from getting into your shoes when running. The protective hem covers the shoe and functions as a “seal”. 

The sock ends in a double hem.

as insulation. The toe and heel are materially reinforced and the reinforced zone protects the Achilles’ tendon on the heel.

Sock inserts are are a a completely specifi c product that has several uses. The construction of the inserts utilizes the attributes 

of two completely different materials, wool and polypropylene, which create different sensation zones. The toes are made 

of wool wool fabric with plush loops reaching almost to the middle of the sole onto which adjoins a smooth polypropylene weave

Gewebe aus Plüschmaschen, diese reichen bis in die Mitte der Fußsohle. Eine glatte Fläche aus PolyPoly- propylen schließt sich an. Die im Wolle- und Polypropylenbereich entstehenden leichten Erhebungen, 

haben verschiedene Funktionen. Im Rißtbereich wechseln sich Plüschstreifen mit Netzstreifen ab. Die 

Ferse und der runde Knöchelschutz sind verstärkt. Der Einsatz ist mit einem niedrigen weichen Bünd- Bünd- 

chen abgeschlossen. Falls die Einsätze in der Socke getragen werden, z. B. in der Thermo Socke, zieht 

man sie mit der glatten Fläche nach innen an. Die Erhebungen an der äußeren Seite verbinden sich mit

The special synthetic fi bre EKS contains micro-particles that during an increased thermal balbal- ance accumulate heat. When water is drawn away, the spaces between the fi bres cool down and the 

micro-particles begin releasing the heat they accumulated. This process is similar to that of wool 

fi bre, but with wool the generated heat when wet is rather a chemical reaction, whereas with EKS 

fi bres this is a physical process. EKS socks utilize this principle, and in connection with the patented 

MOIRA TG 900® polypropylene fi bre, an outstanding feeling of warmth and dryness is achieved. 

The materially reinforced heel and toe are covered with a plush loop. So is the sole of the sock. The 

loops also cover the area above the heel and the ankle. In addition to their insulating function, the 

loops also act as a dampening layer protecting feet against pressure sores and shocks. The area made 

from the loop weave that runs from the ankles along the instep all the way to above the toes is of a

sports and motorsports, utilizes the alternating of several kinds of weave to create variously acting 

zones for increased wearing comfort. The body of the knee-sock is made from a strong elastic knit

The TGd children’s sock has a completely different structure than the adult version of the same name because it 

is designed for a different degree of physical exertion. The material prevalence of the patented MOIRA TG 900® poly- 

propylene fi bre is able to uncompromisingly continually draw away sweat to the outer side of the sock and keep the 

foot completely dry. Because long-term physical exertion is not anticipated, the sock does not have special ventilation 

zones and bands for securing the sock on the foot. The entire body of the sock is made from a dense, smooth knit with 

an elastomer that ensures elasticity and a constant snug fi t. The toe and heel are materially reinforced and are slightly 

elastic while constantly holding their shape. The hem is low with gentle constriction. TGd socks are designed for year- 

round wearing during sports and outdoor stays.

4 Der Aufbau dieser Socke ist wegen der Belastung der Kinderfüße im Grunde anders, als bei eiei- ner Socke für Erwachsene. Das Grundmaterial besteht aus der Faser MOIRA TG 900. Man hat wegen 

einer nicht so hohen physischen Belastung auf Netzgewebe im Rißtbereich und Stabilisierungsstrei- 

fen verzichtet. Die Socke besteht aus einem glattem Gewebe mit einem Anteil von Elastomer, das 

die Elastizität gewährleistet. Die Spitzen und Fersen sind verstärkt. Die Socke ist mit einem weichen 

Bündchen abgeschlossen. Die Socken TGd eignen sich für alle Sportarten und für den täglichen 

Gebrauch.
