keine Zeit mit dem Schreiben von Tourberichten,
sondern kann sofort mit einer neuen
Tour beginnen. Denn der Bericht über
die exakten Eintreffzeiten beim Kunden,
Stand- und Pausenzeiten sowie die hausnummerngenauen
Adressen sämtlicher
Haltepunkte wurde bereits in der Track-
Pilot-Software erstellt und kann nun ausgedruckt
oder als Excel-Tabelle exportiert
werden. Durch die offene SQL-Schnittstelle
der TrackPilot-Datenbank ist auch die Weitergabe
der Informationen an eine weiterverarbeitende
Software möglich.
An einen normalen Arbeitstag werden so
durch den Einsatz des TrackPilot-Systems
in der Regel 15 Prozent der Kilometer und
ein Drittel der Arbeitszeit in der Disposition
und im Führerhaus gespart.
In order to optimally plan vehicle usage
and reliably inform customers and clients
about pick-up or delivery appointments,
dispatchers generally have to telephone
the driver. Only in this way do they learn
its position and estimated arrival time. This
is not only time consuming, but also labor
intensive and entails particularly high communication
costs. After that the trip reports
for timekeeping and for billing are tediously
written out by hand.
Many companies have already recognized
that these labor-intensive processes can
be made more efficient through the use of
a GPS vehicle tracking system with live tracking
and automatic reporting.
Practical Routeplanning
in the disposition
Indeed, not just the acquisition of reliable
information about the current location of a
vehicle and the route driven, but also the
planning of the trip to be driven represent
a significant component of the daily dispatching
work. In the search for a suitable
software solution, fleet managers were
discouraged, however, not just by the high
licensing costs. The implementation of additional
software that further expands positioning
is usually out of the question.
Work with the TrackPilot software from PLT

tomers, depots and vehicles are imported
with a mouseclick. Allowing for the adjusted
parameters and listed restrictions like
delivery time windows or vehicle capacities,
optimal trip plans are automatically created
at the touch of a button.
In the graphic representation of the created
trips, the dispatcher moreover has the
opportunity, via Drag&Drop, to react to last
minute changes in the job situations and
to adjust the trips accordingly. Thus, quick
practice-oriented trips are created, which
then are transmitted directly from the software
to the driver’s navigation device. The
driver confirms the first order of his trip on
the touch screen and thanks to precise digital
maps, optionally with truck navigation
for all of Europe, is guided directly to the
des tination.
If the order information supplied is inadequate
or if unforeseen events occur, the
driver has the opportunity to make contact
with the dispatcher with free text messages
or pre-made messages at any time. It can
be used, for example, to send a new driving
order reacting to a changed traffic situation.
Independent of the order navigation and bidirectional
communication the PLT black box
built inside the car constantly sends the current
and GPS-accurate position. Furthermore,
it transmits the ignition status, direction,
mileage and speed as a standard feature.
Via the optional connection of sensors additional
data such as fuel status and coolant
temperature can be transmitted. Customized
mobile tariffs especially designed
for telematics applications, such as those
offered by the IT and telecom specialist,
I.TE.NOS, enable smooth and cost effective
data transmission.
Effective management
through time and mileage saving
On the same software level on which the
trip was planned earlier, the dispatcher now
tracks the vehicle’s route in real time. The
graphic overlay of the planned and actual
route makes the course deviations immediately
apparent and gives the dispatchers an
opportunity to respond.
After arriving stress-free back at the depot,
the driver now spends no time with the writing
of trip reports, but instead can immediately
begin a new trip. Since the report
containing the exact arrival time at the customers,
all down times and break times as
well as the exact house number addresses
of all stopping points was already generated
in the TrackPilot software, it can now be
printed out or exported as an Excel spreadsheet.
The transfer of information to a processing
software is also possible through
the open SQL interface of the TrackPilot database.
On a normal work day usually 15 % of the
distance and a third of the work time at
the dispatcher and in the driver’s cab will
be saved through the use of the TrackPilot
system.
