Nach einer stressfreien Fahrt zurück im Depot<br />
angekommen, verbringt der Fahrer nun<br />
keine Zeit mit dem Schreiben von Tourberichten,<br />
sondern kann sofort mit einer neuen<br />
Tour beginnen. Denn der Bericht über<br />
die exakten Eintreffzeiten beim K<strong>und</strong>en,<br />
Stand- <strong>und</strong> Pausenzeiten sowie die hausnummerngenauen<br />
Adressen sämtlicher<br />
Haltepunkte wurde bereits in der Track-<br />
Pilot-Software erstellt <strong>und</strong> kann nun ausgedruckt<br />
oder als Excel-Tabelle exportiert<br />
werden. Durch die offene SQL-Schnittstelle<br />
der TrackPilot-Datenbank ist auch die Weitergabe<br />
der Informationen an eine weiterverarbeitende<br />
Software möglich.<br />
An einen normalen Arbeitstag werden so<br />
durch den Einsatz des TrackPilot-Systems<br />
in der Regel 15 Prozent der Kilometer <strong>und</strong><br />
ein Drittel der Arbeitszeit in der Disposition<br />
<strong>und</strong> im Führerhaus gespart.<br />
In order to optimally plan vehicle usage<br />
and reliably inform customers and clients<br />
about pick-up or delivery appointments,<br />
dispatchers generally have to telephone<br />
the driver. Only in this way do they learn<br />
its position and estimated arrival time. This<br />
is not only time consuming, but also labor<br />
intensive and entails particularly high communication<br />
costs. After that the trip reports<br />
for timekeeping and for billing are tediously<br />
written out by hand.<br />
Many companies have already recognized<br />
that these labor-intensive processes can<br />
be made more efficient through the use of<br />
a GPS vehicle tracking system with live tracking<br />
and automatic reporting.<br />
Practical Routeplanning<br />
in the disposition<br />
Indeed, not just the acquisition of reliable<br />
information about the current location of a<br />
vehicle and the route driven, but also the<br />
planning of the trip to be driven represent<br />
a significant component of the daily dispatching<br />
work. In the search for a suitable<br />
software solution, fleet managers were<br />
discouraged, however, not just by the high<br />
licensing costs. The implementation of additional<br />
software that further expands positioning<br />
is usually out of the question.<br />

tomers, depots and vehicles are imported<br />
with a mouseclick. Allowing for the adjusted<br />
parameters and listed restrictions like<br />
delivery time windows or vehicle capacities,<br />
optimal trip plans are automatically created<br />
at the touch of a button.<br />
In the graphic representation of the created<br />
trips, the dispatcher moreover has the<br />
opportunity, via Drag&Drop, to react to last<br />
minute changes in the job situations and<br />
to adjust the trips accordingly. Thus, quick<br />
practice-oriented trips are created, which<br />
then are transmitted directly from the software<br />
to the driver’s navigation device. The<br />
driver confirms the first order of his trip on<br />
the touch screen and thanks to precise digital<br />
maps, optionally with truck navigation<br />
for all of Europe, is guided directly to the<br />
des tination.<br />
If the order information supplied is inadequate<br />
or if unforeseen events occur, the<br />
driver has the opportunity to make contact<br />
with the dispatcher with free text messages<br />
or pre-made messages at any time. It can<br />
be used, for example, to send a new driving<br />
order reacting to a changed traffic situation.<br />
Independent of the order navigation and bidirectional<br />
communication the PLT black box<br />
built inside the car constantly sends the current<br />
and GPS-accurate position. Furthermore,<br />
it transmits the ignition status, direction,<br />
mileage and speed as a standard feature.<br />
Via the optional connection of sensors additional<br />
data such as fuel status and coolant<br />
temperature can be transmitted. Customized<br />
mobile tariffs especially designed<br />
for telematics applications, such as those<br />
offered by the IT and telecom specialist,<br />
I.TE.NOS, enable smooth and cost effective<br />
data transmission.<br />
Effective management<br />
through time and mileage saving<br />
On the same software level on which the<br />
trip was planned earlier, the dispatcher now<br />
tracks the vehicle’s route in real time. The<br />
graphic overlay of the planned and actual<br />
route makes the course deviations immediately<br />
apparent and gives the dispatchers an<br />
opportunity to respond.<br />
After arriving stress-free back at the depot,<br />
the driver now spends no time with the writing<br />
of trip reports, but instead can immediately<br />
begin a new trip. Since the report<br />
containing the exact arrival time at the customers,<br />
all down times and break times as<br />
well as the exact house number addresses<br />
of all stopping points was already generated<br />
in the TrackPilot software, it can now be<br />
printed out or exported as an Excel spreadsheet.<br />
The transfer of information to a processing<br />
software is also possible through<br />
the open SQL interface of the TrackPilot database.<br />
On a normal work day usually 15 % of the<br />
distance and a third of the work time at<br />
the dispatcher and in the driver’s cab will<br />
be saved through the use of the TrackPilot<br />
system.<br />
