Dear readers,
With the third edition of the Visitors- the travel newspaper, we present to you the biggest event in international tourism - the ITB, the international
tourist fair in Berlin (Internationale Tourismusmesse)- drawing on the insight and experience of tourism experts as well as tourists
themselves. Here, our readers -business travelers –have the most to gain as the travel market is one which is constantly growing. Nevertheless,
it is a common argument that a basic motivation for travel is the sun, the ocean and the beach, all of which are hosted in a stunning destination
like the Maldives, which we will welcome as a partner country at the ITB in 2016. We wish all our readers lots of fun with Visitors.
Tourismus - ein Wachstumsmarkt
Tourism – a steadily increasing market
Berlin, 04. März 2015 - Alljährlich wird auf der
ITB- The World’s Leading Travel Trade Show®
in Berlin vom IPKs World Travel Monitor®
die weltweite Reisemarktstudie präsentiert.
Grundlage der Untersuchung ist das Auslandsreiseverhalten
in mehr als 60 Ländern.
2014 wurden fast eine Milliarde Auslandsreisen
unternommen. Damit wurde eine neue
Höchstmarke erreicht. Die Ausgaben sind um
+2%, auf mittlerweile 1.750 USD pro Auslandsreise
gestiegen. Damit erreichte der Tourismusmarkt
2014 ein Umsatzplus von 6%.
Was beeinflusst das Reiseverhalten?
Gewalttätige Unruhen in beliebten Reisezielen
des östlichen Mittelmeerraums wie zum
Beispiel in Ägypten und Tunesien gehören
zu den wichtigen Einflussfaktoren bei der
Reiseplanung. Ebenso beeinflussen Epidemien
wie Ebola und Beulenpest in Afrika
das Reiseverhalten von Urlaubern. Dasselbe
gilt für die ansteigende Kriminalität in
Lateinamerika.
„Ausgehend von unseren World Travel
Monitor® Trend Daten rechnen wir 2015
global mit einem weiteren Anstieg des internationalen
Reiseverkehrs um +4%“ sagte
Rolf Freitag, Geschäftsführer der Tourismus
Beratung IPK International im Rahmen des
ITB Future Days in Berlin. Wachstumstreiber
wird wie im Vorjahr mit einem erwarteten
Anstieg der Auslandsreisen um +7% Asien
sein, gefolgt von Europa, Nord- und Südamerika
mit jeweils +3%. „Auch in 2015 wird der
internationale Tourismus stärker wachsen als
die Weltwirtschaft“, schlussfolgert Rolf Freitag
von IPK International auf der ITB Berlin.
Was macht Reiseland Deutschland?
Berlin, 4th march 2015 – every year the
IPKs World Travel Monitor presents the
travel research market on the ITB- The World’s
Leading Travel Trade Show in Berlin.
The foundation for this study is the travel
behaviour abroad in more than 60 countries.
In 2014 almost a billion travels abroad has
been undertaken. Thereby it has reached a
new record. The expenses has increased on
+ 2% to 1750 USD per trip abroad by now.
With that the tourism market reached
a turn over plus of 6% in 2014.
What influences the travel behaviour?
Violent disturbance in popular travel destination
of the Mediterranean area like Egypt
and Tunesia belongs to the most important
influencing factors on the travel plan.
Epidemia like Ebola and bubonic plague in
Africa have also an influences in the travel
behaviour of the traveller. The same does for
the increasing criminality in Latin America.
Furthermore did air disaster question
the safety of the flights in Asia
and insecurity of the travellers.
A positive affection instead has the reduction
of nature disaster in comparison of last year.
South America on the other hand benefited
from the world cup. Brazil in particular
was pleased with a higher travel amount.
Not least, the reduction in oil prices had a positive
impact on the tourism economy in the
past year. The fall in value of the rouble allows
travels to look more attractive to Russia.
More people than ever travelled around the
globe despite the crises, war and terror, in
the last year. That way the number of trips
abroad increased by + 4.7% world
wide and clearly exceeded therefore
the general economic growth.
Prospects for 2015
The prospects are very positive for this
year. "Based on our World Travel Monitor®
trend data, we expect globally a further increase
of the international travel traffic by
+ 4%, in 2015 " said Rolf Freitag, CEO of
the tourism consultancy IPK International
on the ITB Future Days in Berlin. Drivers
of growth will be Asia with an expected
increase in foreign trips by + 7% like
in the previous year, followed by Europe,
North and South America, with + 3%.each.
"Even in 2015, is the international tourism
going to grow faster than the global
economy," concludes Rolf Freitag from
the IPK International on the ITB Berlin.
What is going on with destination country
Germany?
According to RA (travel analysis), the travel
year 2014 was international as well
as national a successful year. The domestic
travel industry benefited from the
high wanderlust of the Germans as well
as the steadily increasing demand from
abroad. The traditionally negative tourism
balance sheet, so the lower income from
international travel in comparison to the
expenses of the German tourists abroad
could not be reduced despite of the good
development of the "incoming tourism". In
2015 the scissors will widely diverge. The
German income of the international travel
shows further on a steady growth trend.
International
Der fünfte Kontinent
auf dem Weg der Superlative
The fifth continent
on the way to the superlatives
Australien plant das größte Hotel am beliebten Great Barrier Reef
Australia is planning the largest hotel next to the popular
Great Barrier Reef
Der fünfte Kontinent zieht Abenteurer, Aktivurlauber,
Weltenbummler und auch Backpacker
an. Einmal nach „Down Under“, ans
andere Ende der Welt. Australien ist das beliebte
„Work-and-travel“-Ziel. In keinem Land
Warum also ein
Das Aquis Great Barrier Reef Resort
Das Aquis Great Barrier Reef Resort soll das
größte Resort der Welt werden und mit 7500
Zimmern 12.000 Gäste unterbringen. Das
sechs Sterne Resort soll seinen Platz 15 km
nördlich von Cairns in unmittelbarer Nähe
des Great Barrier Reefs, dem berühmtesten
Naturwunder des Landes finden. 341 Hektar
Land wird für das Projekt gebraucht. Die
ehemalige Zuckerrohrfarm verschwindet zu
Gunsten eines künstlich angelegten Sees.
Die atemberaubende Landschaft Australiens
lockt neben Natururlauber auch Luxustouristen
nach Down Under an. Diese Zielgruppe
hat einen hohen Anspruch. Kurze Wege
sollen durch das geplante Hotelprojekt, das
eher einer futuristischen Stadt gleicht, zu
Shopping Möglichkeiten, Wellness Angeboten
und Restaurants jeglicher Richtung einladen.
Erstklassige Einrichtungen verlangen
die künftigen kauf- und zahlungskräftigen
Touristen. Dabei wird die Reisekasse nicht
verschont. Die Folge ist, das Investoren
sich für Großprojekte, wie zum Beispiel die
Entstehung des atemberaubenden Resorts
oder zum Kauf des nahegelegenen Kasinos
hinreißen lassen. Für Australien hat die Realisierung
des Unternehmens einen rekordverdächtigen
Erfolg. Sie steigen auf den
Thron der Hotel- Superlative und freuen sich
über die zu erwartenden Reiseeinnahmen.
The fifth continent attracts adventurous,
active travellers, world globetrotters and
also backpackers. Once to „Down Under“,
to the other end of the world. Australia is
the popular „work-and-travel“ destination.
In no other country gets the „Work-and-Traveller“
so much to see: the Ayers Rock, the
twelve apostles and the kangaroo. Or discover
the Great Barrier Reef and pick up
with the width of the country, the belonging
wild animals and countless beaches. There
are plenty of reasons to explore the country
in its originality! So why build an oversized
hotel that creates an artificial urbanization
and temps to not to leave the plant?
Of the ten largest hotels in the world, there
are six houses situated in the gambler city of
Las Vegas, Nevada in the United States. With
7500 rooms the Izmailovo in Moscow is still
the largest hotel in the world. Around 10,000
guests are accommodated in four building
complexes with each 30 floors. From fitness
and wellness area, bowling, nightclub,
bars and cafes, it is a city within the city.
The Aquis Great Barrier Reef Resort
The Aquis Great Barrier Reef Resort will be
the world‘s largest resort and will accommodate
with the 7.500 rooms 12.000
guests. The six-star resort is to find a
place 15 km north of Cairns in close proximity
to the Great Barrier Reef, the most
famous natural wonders of the country.
341 hectares of land is needed for the
project. The former sugar cane farm disappears
in favour of an artificial lake.
The breathtaking landscape of Australia attracts
besides of nature lovers tourists also
luxury tourists to Down Under. This target
group has a high standard. Short distances
will invite through the planned hotel
project, which more likely equals a futuristic
city, to shopping possibilities, wellness
offers and restaurants on any kind. First
class facilities require future well-funded
and financially strong tourists. Thereby
will the travel budget not be spared. As a
result is that investors let themselves get
carried away for major projects, such as the
formation of the breathtaking resorts or to
purchase the casino nearby. The realization
of the company has a record breaking success
for Australia. They rise on the throne
of the hotel superlatives and are looking
forward to the expecting tourism revenues.
Die Deutschen Ferienstraßen versprechen schöne Aussichten
The German holiday routes promise beautiful views
Deutschland ist reich an wunderschönen
Strecken von Ost nach West, Nord nach Süd
und Kreuz und Quer. Fernab vom Alltagsrummel
und der Hektik auf viel befahrenen Autobahnen
genießen Deutschlands Autoliebhaber
Ruhe und Entspannung auf besonderen
Wegen durch das Land. Die schönsten Aussichtspunkte
laden zu einer längeren Rast
ein. Die Märchen-, Wein- oder Spargelstraße
sind beliebte Ferienrouten benannt nach ihrem
natürlichen Raum. Visitors stellt in den
folgenden Ausgaben die bedeutendsten Ferienstraßen
Deutschlands vor. In dieser Ausgabe
widmen wir uns der längsten Straße.
Die Alleenstraße
Mit einer Strecke von 2900 Kilometern ist
sie als längste Route durch Deutschland
bekannt. Sie führt durch zehn Bundesländer
und beginnt im hohen Norden in Putgarten
auf der Ostseeinsel Rügen und endet
im Süden in Reichenau am Bodensee.
Erstmals im 17. Jahrhundert wurden Alleen
in Verbindung mit einem baulichen Bezugspunkt
wie einem Schloss oder Herrenhaus
gesetzt. In den darauffolgenden Jahrhunderten
wurden immer neue Bäume entlang
der wichtigen Verkehrswege gepflanzt. Sie
dienten zur Orientierung in der Landschaft
sowie zum Schutz vor direktem Sonnenlicht.
Die Reise auf der Alleenstraße beginnt heute
in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Auf Rügen
erwartet den Reisenden ein Weltnaturerbe:
die Kreidefelsen. Es geht weiter auf der
Route durch das Peenetal. Das ist das größte
zusammenhängende Niedermoorgebiet
Deutschlands. Abwechslungsreich wird es in
Brandenburg: Zwischen Rheinsberg – Dessau
– Wittenberg. Die Gegend birgt eine landschaftliche
Naturidylle mit zahlreichen Seen
und prunkvollen Bauten. Architektonisch interessant
Zeitreise in längst vergangene Epochen.
Im Jahr 2009 wurde die Alleenstraße um
eine weitere Teilstrecke in Nordrhein-Westfalen
erweitert. Seither kommt die Route
auf eine Länge von insgesamt 2900 km.
Schon lange haben die Deutschen das
Auto als ihr beliebtestes Reiseverkehrsmittel
für sich entdeckt. Wen wundert es bei
dem Attraktivitätspotential am Wegesrand!
Germany is rich of beautiful routes from East
to West, North to South and Back and Forth.
Far away from the daily hustle and hectic on
the much frequent driven highways enjoy
the German car lovers their peace and quiet
on special routes through the country. The
most beautiful observation points invite to
a longer break. The fairy tale, wine or asparagus
streets are popular holiday routes named
after its natural space. Visitors present
in the next edition the most significant holiday
streets in Germany. In this edition we
will dedicate ourselves to the longest road.
The Alleenstrasse
With a route of 2,900 kilometers, it is
known as the longest route through Germany.
It goes through ten states and
starts in the far north in Putgarten on the
baltic sea island Rügen and ends in the
south in Reichenau on the lake constance.
First in the 17th century avenues were
placed in conjunction with a constructional
point of reference like a castle or
manor house. In the following centuries
more and more trees were planted
along the important transport routes.
They act as orientation in the landscape
and to protect from direct sunlight.
The journey of the avenue road begins
today in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern. In
Rügen travellers can expect a World Cultural
Heritage: the chalk cliffs. Continue
on the Route through the Peenetal. This is
the largest connected fen territory in Germany.
Rich in variety it is in Brandenburg:
Between Rheinberg - Dessau - Wittenberg
the area contains a scenic natural idyll with
numerous lakes and magnificent buildings.
It gets architecturally interesting from Dessau
through the Harz to Duderstadt with
many historic half-timbered towns. Through
the federal state of Saxony lead the route
from Wittenberg to Dresden Plauen. A culture
rich city with old streets and castles
invites you to visit. Thuringia, the „green
heart“ of Germany follows next state. From
Duderstadt to Fulda you pass historic places
like the Wartburg in Eisenach and the
unique natural wonder, the fairy caves in
Saalfeld. From Fulda to Bad Kreuznach the
journey goes to Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate.
In the footsteps of the Romans you drive
through the stunning volcanic landscape
of the Vogelsberg.From Bad Kreuznach
to Freudenstadt connects the road Alleenstrasse
the lowlands valley “Oberrheinische”
with the heights of the Black Forest.
In Baden-Württemberg, the route leads from
Freudenstadt to the island of Reichenau and
offers various attractions on a little journey
to a past epoch. In 2009, the Alleenstrasse
was extended by a further subsection
in North Rhine-Westphalia. Since then, the
route comes to a total length of 2900 km.
For a long time the Germans have discovered
the car as their most popular travel
vehicle for itself. Who would be surprised at
this potential attractiveness along the way!
Have a good trip with Visitors Traffic Info
Pure relaxation on the longest holiday route in Germany, if you follow the main ADAC
Commandments:
Take enough time for the tour to discover, beside the asphalt, the country and its
people and to include the best observation points for a break.
Plan on the website’s event calendar of the German Alleestrasse the hottest events.
Do not forget to take a suitable photographic equipment, since the twilight of the
avenues projects extraordinary photogenic shadows.
It does not always have to be the car. The Avenues is particularly well suited for
hiking and cycling.
Do not build an obstacle to others by making a stop. Take the field path.
Leafy avenues are dark! Watch out for pedestrians, cyclists and animals.
Do not let yourself be tempted to speed up on free roads at night.
Stay less than 80 km / h when the trees are very close to the edge of the road.
Avoid passing maneuver. You get dangerously close to the trees.
Recommended are road maps with a minimum scale of 1: 200 000.
Destination
Nach der ITB ist vor der ITB
Den 50. Geburtstag feiert die ITB 2016 mit den Malediven
In diesem Jahr eröffnete die Mongolei die
ITB, die Internationale Tourismusbörse. Für
2016 ist es beschlossene Sache - es sind
die Malediven, die als Partnerland die Fachund
Privatbesucher der Messe willkommen
heißen. Beide Destinationen haben vieles
gemeinsam. Sie erfreuen sich bestimmter
Reisegruppen. Im indischen Ozean sind es
die Tauchurlauber und Hochzeitsreisende,
die an den schönsten Stränden Maledivens,
die Seele baumeln lassen. Für Individualreisende
und Naturliebhaber ist der zweitgrößte
Binnenstaat der Welt die Mongolei
ein wahres Paradies. Beide Destinationen
sind weit weg vom Massentourismus. Ziel
beider Reiseländer ist es, durch die Messe
ihre Tourismuswirtschaft anzukurbeln.
Die Mongolei - Weites Land, viel Natur und
freundliche Menschen
Das Land ist viermal größer als Deutschland,
grenzt an China und Russland und
hat weite Steppen, faszinierende Panoramen
mit abwechslungsreichen Landschaftsbildern.
Das grüne Grasland, die
Wüste Gobi und das Gebirge der Mongolei
überzeugen in ihrer Ursprünglichkeit.
Das Land von Dschingis Khan bietet alte
Kulturen, eine abenteuerliche Lebensart
der Nomaden und einfache Fortbewegungs-
und Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten
vergangener Zeiten an. Das wird dem Slogan
auf der diesjährigen Tourismusmesse
„Go Nomadic“ gerecht. 400 000 Besucher
haben letztes Jahr das Urlaubsland besucht.
Neben Bergbau und Landwirtschaft ist der
Tourismus die dritte Einnahmequelle der
Mongolei. Die Hauptstadt Ulan Bator ist
modern, hat eine beeindruckende Skyline,
Einkaufsmöglichkeiten mit Luxusgeschäften
und ein gutes Gastronomieangebot.
Doch nicht unweit von Ulan Bator entfernt,
leben die Ärmsten der Armen. Nomaden die
auf den Wanderzügen durch das Land nicht
überleben konnten und einen Strohhalm
am Rande der Glitzerstadt suchen. In den
Nomadensiedlungen am Stadtrand fehlt
es an fließendem Wasser und Kanalisation.
Das Leben kann kontrastreicher nicht sein.
Da helfen auch steigende Besucherzahlen
nicht weiter, um diese Armut zu bekämpfen.
„Äußerliche Einflussfaktoren beeinflussen
das Land“ berichtet Stefan Hanselmann von
der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Internationale
Zusammenarbeit (GIZ): „Der massive
Rückgang der Bergbauaktivitäten lässt die
Arbeitslosigkeit kontinuierlich steigen. Grund
Ausgabe | 2. Quartal 2015
für den Rückgang sind eine verringerte Nachfrage
in China, deutliche Einbrüche bei den
Preisen, hohe Transportkosten wegen mangelnder
Infrastruktur und oftmals geringe
Produktivität vieler Minen.“ Trotz der Misere
sind die Mongolen freundlich, voller Hoffnung
und positiv in die Zukunft blickend.
Das kann ihnen auch niemand nehmen!
Die Malediven
Viele Inseln, feinsandige Strände und
traumhafte Unterwasserwelten
Seit den siebziger Jahren sind die Malediven
als ganzjähriges Urlaubsziel erfolgreich im
Tourismusgeschäft. Neben dem modernen
Ökotourismus begeistern die Inseln rund eine
Million Gäste pro Jahr mit faszinierenden
Tauchrevieren, wunderschönen Sandstränden
bei durchschnittlich 30 Grad Celsius über
das ganze Jahr. „Die Natur ist unsere wichtigste
Ressource und der Tourismus unser
größter Wirtschaftszweig“, erklärt Tourismusminister
Adeeb auf der diesjährigen ITB und
betont: „Der Tourismus wird sich weiterentwickeln.
Dass dies im Einklang mit der Natur
geschieht, dafür werden wir Sorge tragen.“
Vorstellen wird das Gastgeberland 2016 das
Resortprojekt Thumburi mit 2000 Betten auf
den Malediven, das ein mittleres Preissegment
schaffen soll. Ob das Vorhaben nachhaltig
die Destination stärkt, die natürlichen
Ressourcen schont und gleichzeitig die Besucherzahlen
erhöht, wird uns die Zukunft
zeigen. Bis dahin laufen die Vorbereitungen
des 50-jährigen Bestehens der Internationalen
Tourismusmesse auf Hochtouren.
Die Freude mit dem sympathischen Partnerland
gemeinsam zu feiern, ist sehr groß.
Destination
After the ITB is before ITB
2016 the ITB celebrating the 50th anniversary with Maldives
This year’s opening of the ITB, the Internationale
Tourismus Börse (international
tourism fair), will be hosted by Mongolia.
For 2016 it has been decided that it will
be Maldives who, as a partner country, will
welcome professionals and private visitors
to the fair. Both destinations have a lot in
common. They share certain travelers. In
the Indian Ocean there are scuba-diving
vacationers and wedding travelers who
spend their holidays along one of the most
beautiful beaches. Individual travelers and
nature lovers will find in the world's second
largest landlocked country in Asia
– Mongolia the real paradise. Both destinations
are remote from mass tourism.
The goal of both holiday destinations is
to grow their tourist industry with the fair.
Mongolia
Wide country, lots of nature and friendly people
This country is four times larger than
Germany, shares border with China
and Russia and has expansive steppes
and fascinating panoramas with diverse
landscapes. The green grasslands,
the Gobi desert and the mountains of
Mongolia under score their originality.
The country of Dschingis Khan offers old
cultures, adventurous tales of nomads and
simple means of transportation and accommodation
originating in times past.
This lives up to this year’s tourist fair
slogan “Go Normadic”. 400 000 Visitors
saw last year‘s featured holiday country.
Behind mining and agriculture tourism is
Mongolia‘s third most important revenue
Die Brücke für die Malediven ist geschlagen. Die Inseln haben die schönsten Strände weltweit
stream. The capital Ulan Bator is modern,
has an impressive skyline, many possibilities
for shopping with luxury stores and
a good cuisine. But not too far from Ulan
Bator live the poorest of the poor. Nomads
who were not able to thrive on migration
through the country and were looking for
a break on the edge of the glittering city.
On the nomad settlements on the outskirts
there is neither running water nor canalization.
Life couldn’t be higher in contrast.
The increasing attendance numbers won’t
even help here to fight against the poverty“.
External influencing factors have an
affect on the country” reports Stefan Hanselmann
from the Deutsche Gesellschaft
für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ):
“The dramatic decrease of mining activity
lead to steadily increasing unemployment.
The reason for the decrease was reduced demand
in China, an obvious price crash, high
costs of transportation caused of by a lack
of infrastructure and very often the low productivity
of many mines.” Despite this misery
the Mongolians are still very friendly,
full of hope and look positive towards the
future. This cannot be taken from them.
Maldives
Many islands, fine sandy beaches and a
divine submarine world
Since the 70s Maldives has been very
successful in the tourism business as
year-round vacation destination. Besides
modern ecotourism the islands inspire
one million guests annually with
fascinating diving territories. Beautiful
sandy beaches with an average temperature
of 30 degrees during the year.
“Nature is our most important resource
and tourism is our biggest economic sector,”
explained tourist minister Adeeb at
this year‘s ITB and emphasizes that “tourism
will improve further. We will ensure
that this happens in harmony with nature.”
The host country 2016 will present the resort
project Thumburi on the Maldives with
a capacity of 2,000 beds, which should create
a mid-price segment. Only the future can
tell us whether the plan will reinforce the
sustainability of the destination, protect natural
resources and at the same time increase
tourist numbers. Until then the preparations
for the 50th anniversary celebrations
of the international tourism fair are underway
at full blast. To share the party with the
symphatic partner country will be very joyful.
Wellness
in Berlin
Lage. Visitors hat dazu Pascal Khalifesoltani,
Inhaber der Privatpraxis Shendao Personal
Akupunktur und Massagen, befragt.
Welche Kriterien sind für Sie wichtig, wenn
Sie ein Spa Besuch einplanen?
Gerne entspanne ich mich in meiner freien
Zeit in einem Spa. Neben einem kurzen Weg
sind mir professionelle Behandlungen wichtig.
Das Flair, die Hygiene und die zeitgemäße
Einrichtung spielen ebenfalls mit einem
guten Servicepersonal eine wichtige Rolle.
Wo gehen Sie sich am liebsten entspannen?
Im Steigenberger Hotel am Kanzleramt ist
das Diamonds Spa mit elegantem Wellnessbereich
meine bevorzugte Entspannungsoase.
Ich genieße eine spektakuläre Aussicht
auf das Regierungsviertel. Das Spa verfügt
über eine exklusive Sauna sowie einen
Dampfbereich, einem Fitnessraum mit Ergometer
für eine tolle Aufwärmung und über
Massageräume für vielfältige Anwendungen.
Whoever wants, besides Sightseeing,
Shopping and culture, a relaxing wellness
day, is in the right city. The hotels
like to invest in renewing and expanding
their wellness facilities. Special
treatments are ideal for a holiday visit.
There are options from luxury hotels to
wellness oases. The range of such options
is very wide, especially for those on business
trips. However, it is not just tourists
relaxing in one of the exclusive spas in
the city - residents and local companies
also take time out in a relaxing location.
Visitors have interviewed Pascal Khalifesoltani,
owner of the private
practice Shendao Personal Healthcare
with focus on chiropractics for this.
Which criteria are important for you if
you plan a spa visit?
I enjoy relaxing in my free time in a spa.
The professional treatments are also
important to me. The flair, the hygiene
and the modern facilities with good
service from staff plays a central role.
Where do you prefer to relax?
The “Steigenberger Hotel”, near the office
of the chancellor, has the Diamonds Spa,
with an elegant wellness area. It is my
preferred wellness oasis. I enjoy the spectacular
view of the government quarters.
The spa has an exclusive sauna as well as
a steam sauna, a fitness room with an ergometer
for a good warming up and massages
rooms which have a variety of uses.
Actually, Diamonds Spa is one of the top
places in Berlin with great references, very
good staff and a great location in the city.
Hamburg
macht das Rennen
Laut Forsa Umfrage haben sich in Hamburg
64 % und in Berlin 55 % der Bürger
für die Spiele ausgesprochen. Beide Städte
kämpften um den Zuschlag für den Wettbewerb
der Olympiade für das Jahr 2024.
Berlin setzte dabei auf Nachhaltigkeit –
Hamburg auf kurze Wege. Es ist entschieden-
Hamburg vertritt Deutschland im
Wettbewerb!
Argument. Das IOC (Internationale
Olympische Komitee) besiegelte einen
Rekord- Deal mit dem amerikanischen
Sender NBC. Dieser Sender griff tief in
die Tasche für die Übertragungsrechte
der Olympischen Spiele bis 2032. Wollen
wir hoffen, das nicht im Gegenzug Amerika
mit Boston die Olympiade heimholt.
Ein weiterer Grund ist die Entscheidung, dass
Deutschland die Fußball Europa Meisterschaft
in 2024 veranstaltet. Zwei große Events
in einem Jahr waren bisher ausgeschlossen.
Eine Ausnahme ist wünschenswert und somit
bleibt es spannend! Visitors berichtet!
Hamburg
wins the race
According to Forsa survey, Hamburg citizens
(66 %) and Berlin citizens (55 %) have
declared themselves in favour of the games.
Both cities are fighting for the chance of
holding the Olympic competition in 2024.
Berlin puts an emphasis on sustainability –
Hamburg puts emphasis on short distances.
It is now decided that Hamburg represents
Germany in the competition! The Hamburg
citizens are in fact enthusiastic about
sports, and they take the challenge of building
the Olympic village, a multi complex
arena (25.000 seats) in Grasbrook and
the opening of the new Olympic stadium
(70.000 seats). The city centre and the surroundings
are going to be designed attractively
for athletes and visitors. From hotels,
gastronomy and local attractions to additional
tourist services, Hamburg hopes for
positive economic development. Naturally,
not only does Hamburg gain a high level of
media attention, the Hanseatic image will
have a positive influence after the surcharge.
It is going to be crowded, turbulent and
colorful. Germany is happy to go into the
competition. If it wasn’t for the Americans.
The US has a strong set of cards and an unbeatable
argument. The IOC (International
Olympic Committee) made a record-breaking
deal with the American channel NBC.
This channel had to dig deep from their
pockets for achieving the broadcasting
rights for the Olympics until 2032. Let‘s
hope that America won’t take with Boston
the Olympiade home in return. Yet another
reason is the decision that Germany will
host the European Championship in 2024.
Two big events in one year were excluded
until now. An exception would be highly
appreciated and therefore it stays exciting!
Visitors will keep you posted.
Es muss nicht immer
das geliebte Auto sein
Überfüllte Straßen, keine Parkplätze oder
zu hohe Parkplatzgebühren spielen im Zentrum
Berlins eine tragende Rolle für die
Möglichkeiten alternativer Beförderung in
Citylage.
Hause nehmen.
Beide
werden allein durch die Muskelkraft des
Fahrers angetrieben. Die Fahrgäste können
sich bequem durch die Stadt chauffieren
lassen. Touristen und auch Berliner schätzen
die motorlose Alternative vor allem
wegen ihrer Fahrer, die Berlins Sehenswürdigkeiten
kenntnisreich und unterhaltsam
vorstellen. Auch für Firmenevents und private
Anlässe ist es eine schöne Alternative.
Der Segway
Zwei Räder, eine kleine Plattform und ein
Lenker – das ist ein Segway. Dieses Fortbewegungsmittel
ist für alle Bodenarten geeignet.
Die eingebauten Gyroskopen interpretieren
die Körperbewegung als Beschleunigungsoder
Bremsbefehl. Das macht die Bedienung
einfach. Der Lenker gibt die Richtung an.
Das vorgeschriebene Höchstgewicht ist 115
kg, die Teilnehmer müssen mindestens 15
Jahre alt sein und einen Mofa-Prüfbescheinigung
besitzen. Auch bei dieser Variante
sind geführte Stadtführungen, eine individuelle
Tour oder ein Firmenevent möglich.
Freizeit
It doesn’t have to be
the beloved car
Crowded streets, no parking space or high
parking fees are the reason for alternative
transportation in the city center. Berlin visitors
not only want to get from A to B, but also
explore the surroundings, feel the atmosphere
and take home lasting impressions.
In addition to the well-developed network
of S- and U- Bahn, bus and tram there are
other smart means of transportation. Fun
factor guaranteed! And not just for tourists!
Velotaxi and Rickshaw
If you like to go green without driving
yourself than you can take a velataxi or
the rickshaw. The velotaxis are modern
City Cruiser with a boarded 100 percent
polyethylene cabin for two passengers. The
provider of rikshaw tours rely more on the
traditional Asian version. Both run only by
the driver's physical power. The passengers
can have a comfortable ride through
the city. Tourists and people from Berlin
appreciate the green alternative mainly
because of the drivers who present Berlin
attractions with knowledge and in a very
entertaining way. For corporate events and
private occasions it is a nice alternative.
The Segway
Two wheels, a small platform and a handlebar
- this is a Segway. This vehicle can
be used at all floor types. The built-in gyroscopes
translate the body movement as
acceleration or braking command. This is
easy to handle. The handlebars indicate
the direction. The permissible maximum
weight is about 115 kg, the participants
must be at least 15 years old and owner
of a moped certificate. As alternative
guided city tours, individual tours or
as a corporate event they can be booked.
Der SightRunner
The SightRunner
Aus der eigenen Laufbegeisterung und
einem mangelnden Angebot, Bewegung
und Kultur unter einen Hut zu bekommen,
entwickelte Michael Horstmann 2008
die Idee Stadtführungen in Laufschuhen
- SightRunning genannt - anzubieten.
Touren in vielen großen Städten
angeboten und machen Lust auf mehr.
From our own enthusiasm for running and
a lack of range, movement and culture to
accommodate, Michael Horstmann developed
the idea to offer city tours in running
shoes - called SightRunning in 2008.
He and his team offer Berlin visitors and
business travellers almost around the clock
a full service. There for a part of the program
is the pick up from the hotel and the
selection of prepared and individual tours.
Usually away from traffic and traffic lights,
goes on in jogging speed along river banks,
over bridges as well as parking facilities
to the attraction Berlin has to offer. The
trick at the same time is to adjust indivi
dually to the running guest and its needs.
90% of his customers are people who run
regularly and can at this point combine
their passion for running with a athletic
guided tour. Besides to all Important, stories
while running, provides anecdotes,
Berliner common parlance and stops
Karriere
Das neue Erfolgsduett: Jeanette Herold und Daniel Schütz, beide Institutsleiter der GPB in Berlin-Mitte
Visitors hat Jeannette Herold (J.H.) und Daniel Schütz (D.S:) zur Ausbildung
und zu den Berufsperspektiven von Tourismuskaufleuten befragt. Zusammen
Teilnehmer erwarten neben
den Kaufleuten für Tourismus und Freizeit
(KTF), die den Incoming Bereich bedienen,
eine Ausbildungsmöglichkeit im Outgoing
Bereich – den Tourismuskaufleuten (TMK).
Durch die Neustrukturierung des Reiseverkehrskaufmanns,
bietet der Tourismuskaufmann/-frau
eine Vielzahl von Entfaltungsmöglichkeiten.
Das Berufsbild ist sehr modern.
Durch die zunehmende Internationalisierung
der Unternehmen ergeben sich extrem
steigende Zahlen an Dienstreisen. Die
Ausbildung passt sich dem Trend an. Immer
mehr Unternehmen unterhalten eigene Abteilungen,
die für die Planung und Organisation
von Dienstreisen verantwortlich sind.
Auch kooperieren sie mit Reisebüros, die sich
auf die Geschäftsreise spezialisiert haben.
Warum ist die Tourismusbranche so vielfältig?
J.H.: Die berufliche Perspektive für diesen
Ausbildungsberuf ist sehr positiv, da nach
wie vor ein Großteil der Individualreisen als
Gesamtpaket in einem Reisebüro gebucht
wird. Darüber hinaus nimmt die Tätigkeit
im Bereich Geschäftsreisemanagement eine
hohe Bedeutung ein. Dies ist gerade im Raum
Berlin von einer positiven Entwicklung gekennzeichnet.
Ferner sind Controlling, Marketing
sowie die Planung von Eigenveranstaltungen
große und mögliche Tätigkeitsfelder.
D.S.: Der Trend geht dahin, dass die Menschen
immer individueller reisen möchten.
Von der Pauschalreise nach Spanien, über
die einzeln zusammengestellte Rundreise
durch Südamerika bis hin zu Backpacking
in Thailand und Wellness an der Ostsee,
gibt es viel zu erleben. Der Reisemarkt war
noch nie so ausdifferenziert wie heute.
Welche Auswirkungen hat das auf den
Beruf der Tourismuskaufleute?
D.S.: Sehr positiv.
Was raten Sie angehenden Tourismuskaufleuten?
D.S.: Wenn Sie den Beruf machen möchten,
horchen Sie in sich hinein und nutzen
Sie Ihre persönlichen Stärken. Wenn Ihre
Muttersprache beispielsweise Russisch ist,
können Sie super als Reiseleitung in Russland
arbeiten oder Geschäftsreisen für Unternehmer
anbieten, die im russischsprachigen
Raum tätig sind. Wer in dem Beruf
Leidenschaft mitbringt, ist klar im Vorteil.
In der Metropole Berlin werden
erfolgreich Tourismuskaufleute
ausgebildet
In the metropolis of Berlin
travel agents will be trained
to a high standard
Visitors interviewed Jeanette Herold (J.H.) and Daniel Schuetz (D.H.) about
the apprenticeship and the professional prospects of Travel Agents. Together
they manage the commercial institute of an educational provider
in Berlin- Mitte and are responsible for the travel agent apprenticeship.
Why do you train Touristic Agents in the
GPB – Gesellschaft für Personalentwicklung
und Bildung mbH?
J.H.: We are expanding our offering in the
area of tourism. Participants should expect,
besides the agent for tourism and leisure
(KTF), who manage the incoming area, an
apprenticeship opportunity in the outgoing
branch/area – the tourism merchant (TMK).
Due to the restructuring of the Travel Management
Assistant role, the Travel Agent
position has a varied scope to offer. The job
role is very developed due to the growing
internationalisation of companies resulting
from an extremely high increase in business
travel figures. The apprenticeship falls in line
with this trend. More and more companies
maintain own branches, who are responsible
for planning and organising business
trips. They also cooperate with travel agencies
who are specialised in business travels.
Why is the tourism branch so diverse?
J.H.: The professional prospects for this qualified
job is very positive as a big part of the
individual trips as an overall package are
still bookable in the travel agency. Furthermore
the job has a high importance in the
area business management. At the moment
it is seen as an area of progress/development
in the Berlin. The same can be said
of Controlling, Marketing as well as Events
planning whichplanning which may also
fall under the scope of the Travel Agent role.
D.S: The trend even goes so far, that there
is a growing preference for people to
travel alone. From the package holiday
Spain, the tailored round trip of South
America to backpacking in Thailand and
wellness on the Baltic Sea, there is a lot
to discover. The travel market has never
been so diverse as it is nowadays.
What effect does it have on the Job as a
Touristic Agent?
D.S.: Very positive. The consultation with
travel agencies is very popular. The reason is
that many people cannot easily book a trip
of their exact preferences online. It is more
effective to discuss the individual’s wishes
with an expert personally. Therefore the
tourism experts have a rich variety in their
job because they consistently deal with
different people who have different needs.
Enjoy your Trainees and re-educational
trainees a local advantage in Berlin?
J.H.: Definitely. In Germany, there is probably
no wider variety of target groups than in
Berlin. People of different cultures, experience
and interest live here together. From
young and old the destinations they want
to visit could not be more diverse. Therefore
you can find travel agencies who are
specialists in certain countries, adventures
trips or family holidays, cruises, hiking trips,
health and wellness trips or sport trips.
What do you recommend to aspiring
Travel Agents?
D.H: If you want to do the job, listen to yourself
and use your interpersonal skills. If your
native language is Russian for example, you
could work as a tour guide in Russia or offer
business trips for companies who work
in the Russian area. Somebody who brings
passion in the job, is clearly at an advantage.
Bildung
© Agatha Wiek für GPB
Was angehende Tourismuskaufleute
Dementsprechend
gern gesehen. Je mehr Sprachen Sie sprechen,
desto flexibler sind Sie einsetzbar.
Offenheit: Als Tourismuskauffrau/-mann
sind Sie ständig in Kontakt mit Kunden. Persönlich,
am Telefon oder per E-Mail beantworten
Sie Anfragen und beraten Kunden.
Wer gerne kommuniziert und anderen zuhört,
kann die treffendsten Angebote finden.
Flexibilität: Die Einsetzbarkeit von gelernten
Tourismuskaufleuten ist flexibel. Das liegt an
den breit gefächerten Basiskenntnissen, die
Sie sich während der Ausbildung bzw. Umschulung
aneignen. Ihnen werden Kenntnisse
in Microsoft Office Programmen, Kaufmännische
Grundlagen, wie zum Beispiel die Kosten
Leistungsrechnung und Marketing vermittelt,
die Sie auch in anderen Dienstleistungsberufen
nutzen können. Je flexibler Sie sind, desto
höher sind die Chancen am Arbeitsmarkt.
Eigene Stärken einbringen: Nach der Basisausbildung
kann man sich – ganz nach
den eigenen Interessen – auf einen Bereich
spezialisieren. Es gibt drei Wahlqualifikationen:
Der aufstrebende Geschäftsreisemarkt,
die klassische Reisevermittlung
neu entdecken und der breite Markt des
Reiseveranstalters. Wählen Sie den Bereich
aus, in dem Ihr Interesse liegt, dann
macht Ihnen die Arbeit noch mehr Spaß.
What soon to be Touristic Agent
need to be big?
Passion for travel: Someone who loves to
travel is just right for the job. Not because
you'll be travelling all the time, but the
subject travel inspire everyone. And what
could be more fun than to make your hobby
your career. In line with this, a certain
interest for distant countries and foreign
cultures is an advantage. In plain terms:
knowledge of geography is important and
will be imparted in the apprenticeship.
Interests and Languages: English is the
language which counts in this sector. This
is why it will be taught in the apprenticeship.
Besides German, any other language is
very welcome. The more languages you speak
the more flexibly you can be deployed.
Openness: As a tourism agent you are
in constant in contact with customers. In
person, on the phone or via mail you respond
to enquiries and advise customers.
Whoever loves to communicate and to listen
to others can find the relevant offers.
Flexibility: The employment of a qualified
touristic agent is flexible. The reason is the
wide scope of basic knowledge which they
pick up during the apprenticeship or retraining.
They are trained in Microsoft Office
and economic fundamentals such as cost accounting
and marketing, which they can use
in other services. The more flexible you are
the greater your chances on the job market.
