This thesis deals with the aris<strong>in</strong>g problems <strong>in</strong> connection with <strong>in</strong>creased extension of earthfault-compensated<br />
grids. The grid extension <strong>in</strong>creases the l<strong>in</strong>e to earth capacities, so that the<br />
capacitive l<strong>in</strong>e to earth current which can be compensated and also the earth fault residual<br />
current rise.<br />
The earth fault current depends on operat<strong>in</strong>g voltage, frequency, harmonics and on the<br />
distribution of capacities and <strong>in</strong>ductances <strong>in</strong> the grid (resonances). The ground fault residual<br />
current depends additionally on detun<strong>in</strong>g, damp<strong>in</strong>g, on the saturation of the Petersen coils<br />
and on parallel led systems, which are <strong>in</strong> opposition to a perfect compensation.<br />
With the help of a grid calculation program the limits of the grid extension are po<strong>in</strong>ted out, as<br />
well as further problems that br<strong>in</strong>g difficulties are shown. Above all the <strong>in</strong>fluence of<br />
harmonics und their resonances are exam<strong>in</strong>ed, <strong>in</strong> order to avoid aris<strong>in</strong>g degradations of the<br />
earth fault clear<strong>in</strong>g ability. Further technical measures are expla<strong>in</strong>ed, which ensure a future<br />
problem-free grid operation.<br />
