Abstract
The theme of this work deals with the charismatic and authoritarian leadership
style, in connection with ethics. It asks the question which type of leadership is
ethically more valuable. In the literature part the personnel management is being
highlighted in many possible aspects and shown in their properties. The various
theories show that people have been thinking about leadership for almost a centu-
ry. It turns out that little has changed in the fundamentals of leadership activities in
recent years and that much still has validity. Leadership is an important issue in
today's world, as it expected to withstand any upcoming challenges with responsi-
bility, power and influence.
The characteristics of these two leadership styles are very similar, and often their
behavior can hardly be separated. Charismatic leaders are often glorified which
holds a certain risk, as will appear in the literature part. The authoritarian leader-
ship style shows that management does not get by without power.
The qualitative methods of interviews were being carried out with people at differ-
ent hierarchical levels. An attempt is being made to recognize ethical advantages
of the described leadership styles. The survey shows a clear preference for a
leadership style.
The charismatic leadership is clearly preferred by all respondents. In all hierar-
chical levels the same result is achieved. With respect to ethics, the statements of
the respondents correspond with the statements in literature, it witch the challeng-
es, both charismatic and authoritarian, are almost equally strong.
