New milestone for Pier A-Plus
Recently, five of 16 new security control lanes – including a boarding pass
and passport control – opened in Concourse A, Level 3. The opening of
the new security checkpoint represents yet another milestone towards
the completion of Pier A-Plus, giving passengers the opportunity to take
a first glance of the pier’s new design.
In the newly opened area, passengers pass through an automated
boarding pass control as well as the passport and security control before
entering the existing part of Pier A. The new security and boarding pass
control have been equipped with state-of-the-art technology. The technology
is used for the first time in the new Pier A-plus exclusively for
Lufthansa with the aim to improve the overall passenger experience.
The new control lanes will replace all existing checkpoints in Level 3 of
Concourse A. The replacement will be undertaken on a phased basis
with more new security lanes to open soon.
Lufthansa erweitert China-Angebot
Nach Peking, Schanghai, Hongkong, Nanjing und Guangzhou hat
Lufthansa Ende März zwei weitere China-Ziele in ihr Langstreckenprogramm
aufgenommen: Shenyang und Qingdao.
Ein Airbus A340-300 fliegt jeweils am Montag, Mittwoch und Freitag,
ab Frankfurt, um 22.15 Uhr nonstop in das Industriezentrum Shen -
yang und danach weiter in Chinas drittgrößte Hafenstadt Qingdao.
Der Rückflug startet jeweils dienstags, donnerstags und samstags, um
21.05 Uhr, in Qingdao, beziehungsweise rund drei Stunden später in
Shenyang.
Shenyang liegt im Osten des Landes in der an Nordkorea grenzenden
Provinz Liaoning (Mandschurei) und zählt mit seiner Automobil-,
Flugzeug- und Chemie-Industrie zu einem der größten Wirtschaftszentren
Chinas. Im Handelszentrum Qingdao, in der weiter südlich
gelegenen Provinz Shandong, befinden sich neben großen Fischereibetrieben
auch zahlreiche Textil- und Elektronikunternehmen. (Red.)
