Hittite Launches New Programmable Bandwidth Low Pass Filter
Hittite Microwave Corporation
has introduced the
HMC1023LP5E, a new addition
to its IF/Baseband Processing
integrated circuit product
line. A 6th order, programmable
bandwidth, fully calibrated
dual Low Pass Filter (LPF), the
HMC1023LP5E features programmable
0 or 10 dB gain and
supports arbitrary user programmable,
bandwidths from 5 MHz
to 72 MHz. When calibrated, the
programmed bandwidth is accurate
to within ±2.5%. A builtin
filter bypass option enables
wider bandwidth while maintaining
programmed gain and common
mode control settings.
The HMC1023LP5E features
an integrated ADC driver, programmable
input impedance, and
adjustable output common mode
voltage from 0.9 V to 3 V with a
2 Vpp signal. The output common
mode can be also be adjusted
lower than 0.9 V common
mode to effect a seamless interface
while achieving maximum
performance. Programmable bias
settings enable performance/
power dissipation trade-offs optimized
for each application. The
6th order Butterworth transfer
function delivers superior stop
band rejection while maintaining
both a flat passband and minimal
group delay variation. The
HMC1023LP5E is footprint and
register compatible with the previously
released HMC900LP5E
programmable bandwidth LPF
and supports wider signal bandwidths
demanded by the new
72 MHz channel spacing standard
set by the microwave radio
market.
Hittite’s IF/Baseband Processing
product line is now comprised
of two programmable
bandwidth Low Pass Filters,
the HMC1023LP5E and
the HMC900LP5E, and the
HMC960LP4E dual digital
variable gain amplifier. These
devices enable the design of a
universal hardware platform
that is field programmable and
supports numerous RF frequencies,
standards, and signal bandwidths.
Together with Hittite’s
Wideband PLLs with Integrated
VCOs and Analog-to- Digital
Converters (ADCs), the IF/
Baseband product line enables
Hittite’s customers to address
all regions, standards and bands
of operation with one hardware
platform; thereby streamlining
their supply chain and eliminating
the need to support frequency/standard/bandwidth
specific
hardware.
Both products are housed in a
5 x 5 mm plastic leadless surface
mount package and provide
excellent temperature stability
from -40 °C to +85 °C. Released
data sheets may be found
at www.hittite.com. Samples
and evaluation PC boards are
available from stock and can
be ordered via the company’s
e-commerce site or via direct
purchase order.
RFMW Announces Double Oven Crystal
Controlled Oscillator from Bliley
New 6000 MHz VCO from Crystek
Corporation
RFMW provides design and
sales support for a new Double
Oven Crystal Controlled
Oscillator (DOCXO) from
Bliley Technologies, Inc.
Developed for critical applications
were exceptional
Frequency vs. Temperature
performance is required, the
N6B series stability is rated
at ±0.4ppb over an operating
temperature range of -20 to
+70 °C. Two variations of the
N6B series, the N6B-ABA-
D1A-10M and N6B-ABA-
D1B-10M, provide a sine
wave output of +5 dBm (typ.)
into 50 ohms.
Bliley‘s N6B series DOCXO
operate from a +5 V DC supply
with or without Electronic
Frequency Control and offer
aging performance per year
of less than ±0.1ppm. Phase
noise at 10 kHz offset is –150
dBc/Hz. With an attractive
performance vs. price ratio,
the N6B series is well suited
for network timing and
general precision applications
where exceptional stability
is required. The N6B
series DOCXO are housed
in a standard Double Oven
through-hole package measuring
36.2 mm (L) x 27.3 mm
(W) x 23.8 mm (H).
Crystek‘s CVCO33BE-6000-6000 VCO operates at 6000
MHz with a control voltage range of 0.5 V~4.5 V. This VCO
features a typical phase noise of -85 dBc/Hz @ 10 kHz offset
and has excellent linearity. Output power is typically +5
dBm. Engineered and manufactured in the USA, the model
CVCO33BE-6000-6000 is packaged in the industry-standard
0.5-in. x 0.5-in. SMD package. Input voltage is 5 V,
with a max. current consumption of 40 mA. Pulling and
Pushing are minimized to 8.0 MHz and 5.0 MHz/V, respectively.
Second harmonic suppression is -20 dBc typical. The
CVCO33BE-6000-6000 is ideal for use in applications such
as digital radio equipment, fixed wireless access, satellite
communications systems, and base stations.
