KurzProfIl
bald an Grenzen. Wenn nötig, werden wir hier
weiter expandieren.
Schauer: Unser internationales Netzwerk umfasst neben unseren
Advantage in the boom
Synchronized to the completion of 30 years of ITG’s history,
Reinhard Rank, Managing Director since 2006, has
passed on the company leadership to Alexander Schauer
and Andreas Weiss. In the interview the new Managers explain
their view of the company and the future adaptation
to the customers’ demands.
Before Alexander Schauer joined ITG he worked as Manager
at Deutsche Post AG in a different branch of logistics.
His impression from “outside” is that ITG is a well-functioning
organization with modern set-up, first-class services, a
good reputation and a family-like spirit. The high identification
of the employees with the company and their knowhow
are the biggest assets, he says. He enjoys his new job
and already has learned a lot about new aspects and details
while visiting almost all branch offices and many partners
and customers.
Andreas Weiss has headed the logistics branch office in
Munich. As Managing Director he is now responsible for
Contract Logistics, Truck Freight, Customs and Quality &
Security, while Alexander Schauer heads Air Freight and
Ocean Freight, Sales and Communications & Marketing.
They communicate closely and are supported by the team
of managers of the central departments. ITG managed
to stabilize earnings despite decreasing revenues and to
maintain the core workforce during the economic crisis,
which he says is a major advantage in the current boom
period.
Alexander Schauer states that the major milestones for the
future development of ITG will be the strengthened presence
in the markets by the creation of a more homogenous
sales structure as well as intensified communications activities
and improvements in IT structure. IT will be enhanced
with regard to sustainability, customer orientation and
performance. Employee satisfaction will remain another
core aspect of the strategy.
Schauer is convinced that even in a more and more pricedriven
market there are companies – mid-sized and privately-run
companies as well as multinational groups – who
want to benefit from high quality services both financially
and by added values. Andreas Weiss mentions the specific
know-how ITG applies for the benefit of the customers in
logistics and forwarding, customs, quality and security. He
regards ITG the ideal logistics partner for companies who
are looking for suitable high-quality solutions instead of
ready-made products they should submit to.
Andreas Weiss says the national and international network
of own branch offices will be expanded in the future. Alexander
Schauer adds that the network of 200 partners and
agents will also be intensified. The aim is to constantly enhance
the capabilities and service offerings for the customers
and at the same time to make foreign companies more
familiar with the possibilities of ITG in Europe.
