Rain, mist, cold!
30 boxes with soft drinks, 100 sandwiches, 120
pieces of cake, 10 tables, 80 air beds, 20 thermos
flasks of coffee, 3000 kilometres driven, 4000
frequent flier miles etc. etc.
All this is part of E.A.S.I. - Regenbogen
– Cup, taking place every year in
Haar, Germany. Only the
bad weather shouldn't
become a habit.
But neither the
rain nor the
dampness could
avoid the 13th
tournament becoming
a fascinating
and
committed event.
Of course, it was a
matter of winning
but the main emphasis
was all that gathering
and the interchange in between.
35 players arrived from England, teams from
Bad Tölz and Plattling (Germany) as well as the
team from Graz (Austria) participated. And last
but not least the football team from Prague
which won this year's tournament. Pro Sport
Linz (Austria) finished second, well-deserved.
is time also the host - Regenbogen-Celtics -
were a factor front and centre and finished third.
120 players celebrated not only the winners but
also their friendship and the gathering.
All this couldn't have been practicable without
lots of volunteers. We, exceptionally, would like
to thank the youth centre 'Route 66' in Haar and
the youth centre in Vaterstetten, which made
this tournament come true by hosting the foreign
players.
We would like to thank the located
Brewery Aying, donating
the soft drinks
time and again and
Bus Operator Erich
Heller OHG which
abated the transportation
costs.
Also many thanks
to all the people
who helped before,
during and after the
tournament. Especially
to Sepp from Lower Bavaria
to whom it is a matter
of particular concern to make
the sandwiches every year, to Mrs.
Holzer and her helpers who manage the
snacks, to DJ Bernd Casagrande, our 'public announcer'.
And last but not least to Stefan Holzer, who has
been training the 'Regenbogen Team' for 13
years and is getting this tournament become reality
every year.
All this together is the original idea of the tournament
and does it yet make ….
