Large-area concrete members, such as fl oors
and walls, not only transmit loads, but can also,
when suitably integrated, accommodate pipelines
in their cross-section and serve in this way as
large-area heating units. Depending on the temperature
level of the liquid medium fed into the
pipes, the enclosed space is completely climatecontrolled,
i.e. not only heated but cooled as well.
For an optimal transmission of energy from the
pipelines into the concrete and from there into the
room, the cross-section is divided into two separate
shells and a cavity arranged in-between. From
the standpoint of structural design, this sandwich
cross-section is equal to a full cross-section. The
cavity between the shells is here of advantage in
that it saves weight without reducing the bending
resistance, and the free space between the shells
can be used for other installations. Additional piping
can be installed in the cavity, for use for electric,
sprinkler or also ventilation lines. All types of
conduits and pipes for subsequent use for building
services and utilities can therefore be integrated
in the cross-section of the concrete already in
the plant.
Of advantage are also the large precast elements
with spans of over 14 m. Because the larger
the area of the individual element, the fewer the
hoists that need to be carried out for the erection
of a fl oor. Here, too, the sandwich cross-section is
of advantage, as it provides the wide-spanning
slab with the required stability during erection
and later in its fi nal position.
The entire process chain is presented, based
on a recently completed construction project –
from planning to production and to the erection
of the elements. Special consideration is given to
the increased requirements that result from the
integration of the piping for the subsequently installed
building services and utilities, which differs
from the conventional precast construction.
The integration of additional trades in the typical
precast part is the only way to achieve defi nite advantages
for rapid and effi cient construction – also
in the cramped conditions of inner-city areas.

Vorteilhaft sind weiterhin die
großformatigen Fertigteilelemente
mit Spannweiten von mehr
als 14 m. Denn je größer die Flächen
der einzelnen Elemente
sind, umso weniger Hübe müssen
ausgeführt werden, um die
jeweiligen Geschosse zu errichten.
Auch hier erweist sich der
Sandwichquerschnitt von Vorteil.
Er verleiht der weit gespannten
Platte während der Montage und
im eingebauten Zustand entsprechende
Stabilität.
Anhand einiger erst kürzlich
ausgeführter Bauvorhaben wird
die gesamte Prozesskette von der
Planung über die Fertigung bis
zur Montage der Elemente dargestellt.
Insbesondere auf die
gegenüber der üblichen Fertigteilbauweise
gestiegenen Anforderungen
hinsichtlich der Integration
der Rohrleitungen für die
spätere Haustechnik wird eingegangen.
Denn nur dank der Integration
weiterer Gewerke in dem
üblichen Fertigteil können deutliche
Vorzüge für eine rasche und
wirtschaftliche Bauweise, auch
unter beengten Platzverhältnissen
im innerstädtischen Bereiche,
erzielt werden.
