Our cover feature is devoted to the “adamas” – the most noble and unyielding of all precious stones. This leads us to the legendary Duke and Duchess of Windsor and their almost 40 years of mutual passion for Cartier and the fine art of jewellery. We also turn our attention to an accessory imbued with symbols: the glove. In recent times the glove has assumed the role of an indispensable accompaniment for the fashion conscious, yet in the Middle Ages gloves played a major role in acts of signing: treaties were regarded as signed and sealed after a glove had been handed over. In line with the spirit of the season, we have not overlooked the world of fur, where fashion designers are offering a sheer inexhaustible wealth of inspiration. In this spirit too, we wish you a year 2012 brimming with inspiration and enjoyment.

Das Fair Trade Label FTC garantiert von der Rohware<br />
bis zum finalen Produkt faire Arbeitsbedingungen<br />
und konstant gleichbleibende Qualität. Die Firmengründer<br />
Andreas und Jutta Knezovic verkörpern diese<br />
Philosophie seit der Gründung im Jahr 2003.<br />
Die FTC eigenen Ziegen leben bei Farmern in der Inneren Mongolei und den<br />
angrenzenden Provinzen. Artgerechte Haltung, hochwertiges Futter und das<br />
besondere Klima garantieren Rohware von höchster Qualität. Durch das Farmer<br />
Protection Program kauft FTC die gewonnene Ware zu einem etwas höheren Preis<br />
als den offiziell gehandelten Marktpreis ab und verhilft den Farmern zu einem<br />
höheren Einkommen. Die Weiterverarbeitung in den eigenen Betriebsstätten<br />
ermöglicht eine permanente Warenkontrolle und strenge Rohwarenauslese. Die<br />
FTC-Kollektion zeichnet sich nicht nur durch den Fair Trade Anspruch aus, sondern<br />
auch durch aufwändig gefertigte Intarsien und raffinierte Details. In jedem der<br />
Damen- & Herren-Modelle und FTC HOMEWEAR Produkten stecken viel Ausdauer,<br />
Genauigkeit und Herz.<br />
Zur Verbesserung der Lebensbedingungen vor Ort, gibt es seit 2006 die Ganztagesschule<br />
„FTC Cashmere World Hope School“, die Kindern von 4 bis 14 Jahren<br />
eine Schulausbildung ermöglicht. Danach erhalten die Kinder mit Unterstützung<br />
von FTC, die Möglichkeit eine fortführende Schule zu besuchen.<br />

The fair trade label FTC guarantees fair working conditions<br />
and consistently high standards of quality.<br />
The FTC goats are raised by farmers in Inner Mongolia and<br />
neighbouring provinces. Ethical treatment ensures that the raw<br />
material is of the highest quality. Through the Farmer Protection<br />
Program, FTC buys the harvested fleece at a slightly higher price<br />
than the officially traded market price. Subsequent processing<br />
in the company’s own workshops allows continuous quality<br />
control, along with stringent selection standards. In addition to<br />
a fair trade approach, elaborate intarsia knits and fine detailing<br />
are other hallmarks of the FTC collection.<br />
In order to help improve local living conditions, the “FTC Cashmere<br />
World Hope School” all-day facility was set up in 2006,<br />
giving children between the ages of four and fourteen a school<br />
