Our cover feature is devoted to the “adamas” – the most noble and unyielding of all precious stones. This leads us to the legendary Duke and Duchess of Windsor and their almost 40 years of mutual passion for Cartier and the fine art of jewellery. We also turn our attention to an accessory imbued with symbols: the glove. In recent times the glove has assumed the role of an indispensable accompaniment for the fashion conscious, yet in the Middle Ages gloves played a major role in acts of signing: treaties were regarded as signed and sealed after a glove had been handed over. In line with the spirit of the season, we have not overlooked the world of fur, where fashion designers are offering a sheer inexhaustible wealth of inspiration. In this spirit too, we wish you a year 2012 brimming with inspiration and enjoyment.

des Bergkristall-Schmuckes, die raffinierten<br />
Peep Toe Satin-Schuhe mit ihren geformten<br />
Plexiglas Heels, ebenso wie die kurzen Stiefel<br />
in besticktem Satin werden zu den besonderen Ingredienzien<br />
modischer Sinnlichkeit.<br />
The whole collection evokes contemporary values,<br />
with its emphasis on a sense of movement<br />
that redefines the very nature of trousers – cut<br />
off at the ankle and with a turn up that accentuates<br />
the width. Skirts are long and flowing with<br />
a harmonic line to the hem. Dresses skim the<br />
figure, as fluid as water, without any opening<br />
other than a few cuts on the back or at the hips.<br />
A new concept in suits recalls the most intimate<br />
rituals of dress, epitomised by the jacket that<br />
buttons up at the back in unexpectedly soft<br />
micro plissé.<br />
Soft pinks are constant throughout, in close<br />
rapport with black, pewter and brown: flesh<br />
pink, powder pink, rose petal pink, iridescent<br />
pink, powder pink. Precious weaves, opulent<br />
embroidery and innovative textures contribute<br />
sparkling reflections and sudden glints of light.<br />
Every single fabric is the product of dedicated<br />
research and development: satins that seem to<br />
meld into the skin, silks, velvets and chiffons<br />
