Our cover feature is devoted to the “adamas” – the most noble and unyielding of all precious stones. This leads us to the legendary Duke and Duchess of Windsor and their almost 40 years of mutual passion for Cartier and the fine art of jewellery. We also turn our attention to an accessory imbued with symbols: the glove. In recent times the glove has assumed the role of an indispensable accompaniment for the fashion conscious, yet in the Middle Ages gloves played a major role in acts of signing: treaties were regarded as signed and sealed after a glove had been handed over. In line with the spirit of the season, we have not overlooked the world of fur, where fashion designers are offering a sheer inexhaustible wealth of inspiration. In this spirit too, we wish you a year 2012 brimming with inspiration and enjoyment.

Die grazile Stilführung der Kollektionslinie<br />
setzt das vollendete Bildnis der Weiblichkeit<br />
in Szene. Wie eine zarte Elegie der<br />
Sinnlichkeit unterstreicht sie mit Raffinesse<br />
die Anmut und Schönheit des weiblichen<br />
Körpers, ohne ihn jedoch zur Schau zu<br />
stellen.<br />
Dieses stilistische Understatement ist ein wesentlicher gestalterischer<br />
Topos in Giorgio Armanis kreativer Linienführung, die vor<br />
allem die sinnlichen Nuancen seiner Kollektion zur Entfaltung<br />
bringt.<br />
So wirkt das Spektrum der Kollektion als stimmige Reminiszenz an<br />
zeitgenössische Werte, die das Gefühl der Bewegung wunderbar<br />
thematisiert. Sie zeigt sich in der Breitenbetonung der Hose, die<br />
über dem Knöchel markant abschließt, wodurch der Saumgrad eine<br />
gewisse Signifikanz erhält und der die Geh-Bewegung harmonisch<br />
auffängt. Ebenso kristallisiert sich der „Bewegungsfluss“ in den langen<br />
Röcken, der langen und fließenden Linienführung, die sich bis<br />
zum Saum niederschlägt.<br />
Durch diese herausragende Grazilität und die feine Leichtigkeit<br />
der Stoffe und Reduktion der Schnitte, wirkt die Kleidung wie<br />
ein physisches Fluidum, das die Körperkonturen sanft umspielt<br />
und die Kleidung als virtuoses Instrument eines intimen Rituals<br />
