Ägeri valley The world has discovered Ägeri. More and more people around the globe have found a new «home» here in the Ägeri valley. People from Australia, Great Britain, Germany, Benelux, Russia, Spain, Iceland . . . are living together peacefully and enjoying the beautiful landscape of the Ägeri valley. Families have left their homeland for various reasons to settle down here to work, to make new friends and maybe to find a new home. The infrastructure of the local communities is perfect, the shopping and leisure facilities are extensive, and the Swiss school system also offers new arrivals good conditions to acquire the language and to integrate. Despite mixing of peoples, the local communities continue to celebrate their own traditions. While many new arrivals take part in these events, others may not be aware of what is going on. December 2013 in particular has lots to offer. Birgit Ehmes has been leading the company «coaching & more» since last summer, and is offering a special program from November 27 until December 8. Under the slogan «The World meets Ägeri» she, together with various businesses from the Ägeri valley, is offering an Advent decoration exhibition, as well as a rich program for all residents, regardless of age, language or culture. The lake house (Haus am See) will be the meeting place where different cultures can meet, discuss, and celebrate together. It also provides a great opportunity for communication and integration for all non-German speakers from the Ägeri valley. The world meets Ägeri! All events will be held in German and English. What could be better than meeting and learning at the Lake House? Doors are open between November 27 to December 8 from 15:00 till 22:00 The exhibition offers homemade Advent wreaths, Advent and Christmas calendars and decorations in the style of the Swiss colors. Let yourself be inspired. Additionally offered daily from Monday, December 2 to Sunday, December 8 from 15:00 to 18:00, will be a creative crafts program for children from kindergarten through the sixth class. Luzia Henggeler and Erwin Blattmann from Badi Unterägeri will be taking care of the culinary delights. Monday, December 2 from 19:30 to 22:00, Thaddeus Ekdahl / Acupuncture Mr. Thaddeus Ekdahl is an acupuncturist and herbalist at the Gsundheitshuus in Unterägeri. Learn how children can benefit from soft and gentle methods, such as Chinese herbal formulas, color therapy, laser acupuncture, cupping, and even very tiny needles. See a demonstration and have your health questions answered. Tuesday, December 3 from 19:30 to 21:00, Walter Kooiman and Daniel Iten from Swiss Life Would you like to learn more about Switzerland's pension and tax system? Two experts from Swiss Life, one of Europe’s leading providers of pension and life insurance products, will give you necessary information. They look forward to answering any questions, as well. Wednesday, December 4 from 19:30 to 22:00, Erwin Häusler / Traditions can still be found in Ägeri valley Do you know something about traditions from this area? If you want to learn more about customs and traditions still celebrated in our communities, then visit us this evening. During the presentation, fine Swiss specialty food and drinks will be available. Thursday, December 5 from 18:00 to 22:00, Birgit Ehmes / Santa Claus Evening All, whether young or old, single or with children are invited to celebrate Santa Claus with us. Friday, December 6 from 15:00 to 18:00, Bettina Rinderle / book launch Mrs. Bettina Rinderle, a former primary school teacher, has a lot of experience in the field of learning. On this afternoon she will introduce her books «Das wilde Wartezimmer» & «ABC Spielereien mit Lese und Dölb». Children can look forward to an exciting afternoon. Saturday, December 7 from 10:00 to 22:00, Birgit Ehmes / Family Day, Visit of both mayors from the Ägeri valley / candle dipping Jungschar Ägeri This day offers a colorful children's program as well as something for the parents. Between14.00-16.00 Bettina Rinderle presents information about learning. What can we do as parents? How can we help our children? From 18:00-20:00 will be a discussion on «Integration in Ägeri valley» with the mayors of Oberägeri Pius Meier and Joseph Ribary from Unterägeri. How communities structure their integration efforts in the future? Where they set their priorities? What do they expect from the new citizens? We are looking forward to an exciting evening.
