wird aus der gemessenen Gesamtverschiebung mit Hilfe der elastischen Nachgiebigkeit<br />
bestimmt. Obwohl die Anwendung von J R -Kurven nach ASTM E 1820 zur Beschreibung von<br />
duktilem Risswachstum gewissen Bedingen für die Probenabmessungen B <strong>und</strong> W, so genannten<br />
Gültigkeitskriterien 3 , unterliegt, gibt es für die Auswerteformeln keinerlei Einschränkungen<br />
hinsichtlich der Probendicke B, so dass sie auch für dünne Bleche anwendbar sind.<br />

Der Begriff "Gültigkeit" (validity) wird oft in doppelter Bedeutung verwendet, zum einen<br />
für die zulässige Anwendbarkeit von R-Kurven, d.h. ihre Übertragbarkeit auf Bauteile,<br />
zum anderen für die Richtigkeit der Formel für ihre Ermittlung.<br />
