In addition to that, Marinepool supported the Portuguese entry ROFF Cascais. The most prestigious sailing competition had opened up to a new generation of young sailors, aged between 19 and 24 years, who sailed for their own cup in the well known AC45 class the senior teams used for the America‘s Cup World Series in 2012 and 2013. The event was held in San Francisco from September 1st to 4th, 2013, a few days before the final match for the 34th America‘s Cup and brought together ten young international teams. Next World Energy Team represented France with backing by the famous Yacht Club de France while ROFF Cascais sailed for Portugal. To have the very best French talent at the starting line, the FFV and Energy Team had teamed up to help the young competitors in their technical and athletic preparation. The French showed great sailing and poten tial but lacked consistency in a very strong fleet that saw six different winners in seven races. The big surprise of the event was the second Marinepool supported team ROFF Cascais that won one race and sailed onto the podium, finishing the event third behind two Kiwi teams. www.energyteam.fr
