toy manufacturer attaches great importance to the conservation of resources and the<br />

environment. accordingly, for example, plastic remnants are collected and returned<br />

to the material cycle in a recycling procedure. the completed plastic parts are assembled<br />

firmly and packaged in just a few steps with the aid of assembly robots before<br />

they begin their journey to more than 60 countries all over the world.<br />

lOnG-sTandinG Business relaTiOnsHip<br />

BrUDer and hanSa-FleX began their business relationship back in 1999. It all<br />

started with the delivery of a special spiral hose. today, the nuremberg branch<br />

supplies threaded connectors, hydraulic and low pressure hoses for the injection<br />

moulding machines, temperature control couplings for the cooling systems and<br />

much more. Since 2003, support for this customer has been the responsibility of<br />

hanSa-FleX field sales technician Joachim Brock. “If a hose fails during production,<br />

we get to the site right away. Since our branch is so close to the customer,<br />

we can often deliver the required hose to the BrUDer production hall 20 minutes<br />

after receiving the order”, says the hanSa-FleX employee.<br />

“we are extremely satisfied with the service we receive from hanSa-FleX. If a hose<br />

line fails, all we have to do is call the branch in nuremberg and quote the X-CoDe<br />

number. they then make the hose, and it is delivered to us shortly afterwards”,<br />

Stefan Sellerer briefly describes the process. “and in maintenance we can always<br />

count on Mr Semisch’s expertise and flexibility.” when the machines are running at<br />

BrUDer, everything is ready for the next UFo attack in the sandpit. •<br />

preVenTaTiVe MainTenance<br />

and because it is essential to keep unscheduled machine stoppages to a minimum<br />

at BrUDer, Stefan Sellerer, Manager Injection Moulding, places great emphasis on<br />

preventative maintenance: “as a machine operator, we have a duty to make sure that<br />

the machines our employees work with are thoroughly maintained, and we take<br />

this duty very seriously. Besides, preventative maintenance is a no-brainer from the<br />

point of view of the business as well, because especially during peak production periods<br />

machine stoppages simply can’t be tolerated.” For maintenance work, the toy<br />

manufacturer has relied on the services of hanSa-FleX for the last five years. the<br />

maintenance schedules are coordinated directly between Mr rotter, the Maintenance<br />

Manager at BrUDer, and our service technician Marc Semisch. “we have developed<br />

a system whereby I call the customer every Monday and ask if there is a machine that<br />

needs servicing. on average, I go to the site and replace the hoses on a machine about<br />

once a fortnight”, reports Marc Semisch. he has been involved in the maintenance<br />

programme at BrUDer since october 2012, and in the intervening time he has become<br />

thoroughly familiar with the setup at BrUDer. “BrUDer uses injection moulding<br />

machines of various sizes and types from three different manufacturers. Mr rotter<br />

has given me an inventory list of hoses, threaded connectors and other components<br />
