Dieser Übung g<strong>in</strong>g zunächst die Sicherung des äußeren Textverständnisses <strong>von</strong> Topic 5<br />
voraus, ehe der Inhalt <strong>in</strong>tensiver erschlossen <strong>und</strong> die besondere Situation der Pilot<strong>in</strong> Beryl<br />
Markham kurz diskutiert wurde.<br />
Diese Übung führt den adaptierten Auszug aus Markhams Biographie mithilfe ergänzender<br />
Informationen fort <strong>und</strong> umreißt e<strong>in</strong>e vorgestellte <strong>Dialog</strong>situation, <strong>in</strong> der die Schüler zur<br />
Rollenübernahme gezwungen s<strong>in</strong>d, jedoch weitgehend nah an Text <strong>und</strong> Zusatz<strong>in</strong>formationen<br />
den Inhalt neuerlich umwälzen <strong>und</strong> zugleich sprachlich <strong>in</strong>teragieren können.<br />

You are Beryl Markham, the famous English pilot. It’s 6 pm on<br />
September 5 th , 1936 and you have just crash-landed<br />
(notlanden) <strong>in</strong> the small town of Bale<strong>in</strong>e, Canada.<br />
You have just had the most terrible flight of your life.<br />
- You left London at 8 pm on September 4 th , 1936.<br />
- You wanted to fly to New York.<br />
- You wanted to be the first woman who flies across the<br />
Atlantic alone.<br />
- You had no radio (here: someth<strong>in</strong>g like a telephone that<br />
pilots use to talk to people on the gro<strong>und</strong>) on board; so<br />
you couldn’t ask for help.<br />
You now have to give an <strong>in</strong>terview for a reporter from Bale<strong>in</strong>e, Canada. Use the<br />
<strong>in</strong>formation here and what you know from the text on p. 87 <strong>in</strong> your book to answer his/her<br />
