Im Sommer 2011 startet die zweite XWORLD. Dieses Mal fährt der Konvoi
durch Südamerika. Warum eine zweite XWORLD und warum in Südamerika?
Die erste Tour ist sehr gut angenommen worden und hat großes Interesse ausgelöst.
Auch hier haben wir investiert, um die Marke HANSA-FLEX weiter aufzubauen.
Die Entscheidung für eine zweite XWORLD war richtig, denn schon heute sind
deutlich mehr als die Hälfte der Plätze ausgebucht.
Und warum Süd- und nicht Nordamerika?
Eine Rundreise durch Nordamerika kann man relativ leicht mit einem Leihwagen
machen. In Südamerika macht man das nicht so ohne Weiteres. Da ist sicherlich
der Expeditionscharakter besser ausgeprägt. Außerdem bietet der Kontinent so
viel Abwechslung, dass es ganz sicher nie langweilig wird.
Werden Sie auch mitfahren? Wenn ja, welche Etappe hat es ihnen besonders
angetan?
Ich fahre natürlich mit. Auf der ersten Etappe von Buenos Aires nach Rio de Janeiro
sitze ich hinter dem Steuer. Auf dem Weg werden wir mehrere HANSA-FLEX Betriebe
besuchen. Die Etappe ist auch schon ausgebucht. Ich fliege schon ein paar
Tage eher hin, um mit Kunden in der Region zu sprechen. Auf die Tour freue ich
mich schon riesig!
HANSA-FLEX has been trading as an Aktiengesellschaft since the summer of
2010. Why was this step taken?
This was an enormous leap forward in the history of HANSA-FLEX. Our origins lie in a
number of small independent companies. In those days, this was certainly an excellent
vehicle with which to build our closely meshed branch network. But today we
are looking towards international growth, the company had to be passed on to the
next generation. That process is now complete. These were all reasons that prompted
us to begin trading as an AG. We expect the company to wield greater external
influence as a result. In addition, we have set HANSA-FLEX International up as a fully
owned subsidiary of the AG and put in place a modern management structure.
A new structure for the New Year, 2011. What objectives have the management
board and supervisory board set for this year?
We want to continue the international SAP rollout as planned. By the end of
2011 we intend to equal
the figures we posted
in 2008. We will do this,
and may even surpass
them. We plan to open
about ten more shops or
branches in Germany, so
that by 2015 we are represented in every corner of the country with 250 branches.
And we want to explore new market opportunities.
Where do you see further growth potential for the group?
We will continue to grow and are very well placed to do so. We will establish a
presence in new markets, and may even establish new overseas subsidiaries in the
course of this year. Most of our overseas companies are showing stronger growth
than we are here in Germany. We are expecting great things from our new divisions,
in which we have invested substantially over the last few years. We have
received a large number of enquiries in the area of OEM and many new, interesting
projects are pending. We want to enhance our service further. Industrial assembly
and our mobile rapid hydraulic service (FLEXXPRESS) are examples of this. We
think that they still have tremendous potential.
The second XWORLD will begin in the summer of 2011. This time, the convoy
will travel through South America. Why a second XWORLD, and why South
America?
The first expedition was extremely well received and sparked a great deal of
interest. In this too, we made an investment in order to raise the profile of the
HANSA-FLEX brand. The decision to launch a second XWORLD was correct, because
even now well over half of the places on the tour have been booked.
And why South America and not North America?
It is relatively easy to organise a grand tour round North America in a hire car.
In South America, it is not
easy to do that. So the

Are you going to travel with the expedition? If so, which stage particularly
appeals to you?
Of course I will travel with the expedition. I will be driving for the first stage from
Buenos Aires to Rio de Janeiro. On the way, we will visit several HANSA-FLEX businesses.
That stage is already fully booked. I will fly there a few days before it starts
so that I can meet with some customers in the region. I am already looking forward
to the trip immensely!
