Hakuba
The Hakuba Valley is a huge expanse of resorts offering an incredible
variety of terrain for skiers and snowboarders alike. Situated in the heart
of the Japanese Alps, the alpine scenery is truly spectacular with huge
rugged peaks towering above the town below.
From one end of the valley to the other, there are 10 resorts accessing
over 200 runs making Hakuba the skiing mecca of Japan. Resorts
include Sun Alpina, Hakuba 47, Goryu-Toomi, the Olympic ski resort
of Happo-One, Iwatake, Tsugaike, Norikura and Cortina. All resorts are
impressive and rate highly amongst skiers and boarders alike. Night
skiing is available at a limited number of resorts in Hakuba, usually
from the end of December to the end of March.
For those wanting to have a break from the snow, take in Nagano’s
famous Zenkoji Temple and the snow monkeys at Jigokudani Hot Springs.

1 HAKUBA CENTURY hotel moderate
The Hakuba Century Hotel is located directly nextdoor
to the Happo Gondola Station & thus right on the
slopes. With comfortable good facilities with the likes
of indoor and outdoor natural hot springs and saunas,
restaurant, bar overlooking the slopes and lobby lounge
and karaoke facilities. Rooms are a combination of twin
and triples, as well as Japanese Western Combination
rooms and Japanese rooms. Within minutes walk of
the hotel you can easily access the Happo Village for
restaurants, bars, shops and ski rental facilities.
2 HAKUBA LUNA HOTEL moderate
Hakuba Luna Hotel is situated only 1 minute walk to
the Sakka lifts of Happo One, a really great location.
The hotel offers comfortable pension style lodging and
is well suited to all. Hakuba Luna Hotel has wide range
of western and combination style rooms. Most rooms
have private bathrooms. Complimentary amenities
include wireless internet access, guest laundry facilities,
heated drying room and guest recreation room. There is
also a pizza and pasta restaurant with bar and is very
popular with guests. Hakuba Luna Hotel is only but a
short walk to nearby local entertainment restaurants
and bars.
3 HOTEL DE LAILE moderate
A small hotel located on the slopes of Happo One with
ski in/ski out access and only a 4 minute walk to the
lift ticket office. All rooms are well maintained, clean
and comfortable. On site facilities include a natural
indoor and outdoor mineral hot spring, restaurant and
coffee shop, karaoke room and internet access.
