MDC-Wissenschaftlerin im DFG-Fachkollegium
MDC Scientist elected to DFG Review Board
Prof. Carmen Birchmeier ist in das Fachkollegium „Grundlagen der
Biologie und Medizin“ der DFG gewählt worden. In der Amtszeit 2012-2015 wird sie
Förderanträge wissenschaftlich bewerten, Empfehlungen für die Entscheidungsgremien der
DFG abgeben und diese auch in strategischen Fragen der Forschungsförderung beraten.

Medicine” of the German Research Foundation (DFG). Beginning in March 2012 und running
through 2015, Carmen will review scientific grant proposals, offer recommendations for the DFG
decision committees, and advise the DFG in terms of strategy in research funding.

New MDC Programme Coordinator “Cardiovascular and Metabolic Diseases”
Prof. Dr. Norbert Hübner ist seit der Kuratoriumssitzung am 25. April
2012 zum neuen Koordinator des Bereichs Herz-Kreislauf- und Stoffwechselerkrankungen
berufen und der bisherige Koordinator, Prof. Dr. Thomas Willnow, entlastet worden.

Cardiovascular and Metabolic Diseases on April 25, 2012. His predecessor, Professor Thomas
Willnow, had served as coordinator since 2004.
Neue Referenten im Vorstand

Katrin Rosswog hat an der Universität Potsdam BWL mit dem Schwerpunkt
Public- und Non-Profit-Management studiert. Während des Studiums arbeitete sie am
Neurowissenschaftlichen Forschungszentrum an der Charité und lernte dabei das MDC
über das Exzellenzcluster „NeuroCure“ kennen. Anfang Dezember 2011 wechselte sie
vom Interessenverband Medizinischer Fakultätentag an das MDC, wo sie als Referentin
des Administrativen Vorstandes tätig ist. Zu ihren Aufgaben gehören insbesondere das
externe Berichtswesen, das Risikomanagement und die Unterstützung des Administrativen
Vorstands im Tagesgeschäft.

Potsdam. During her studies, she worked at the Neuroscience Research Center at the Charité
and was introduced to the MDC via the Excellence Cluster ”NeuroCure”. At the beginning of
December 2011, she left the “Interessenverband Medizinischer Fakultätentag” and began working
at the MDC as Administrative Coordinator. Her duties include producing external reports,
risk management, and supporting the Administrative Office of the MDC in its daily business.
