Alcohol and Water
Fleas Pulsating hearts,
powerful magnets, and
“singing atoms”:
Once again, this year’s “Long Night of the Sciences“ on Saturday,
June 2, 2012, proved to be a night you wouldn’t forget.
From 3 pm to 11 pm, visitors could participate in lab tours or
tried on the role of a researcher and ran experiments in the
lab. They could see what effect alcohol has on water fleas,
spin artificial threads, or extract their own DNA. Following
its great success last year, the Science Slam returned where
young scientists presented their research in an exciting
tempo. Together with partner schools, the “Research Garden”
of the Life Science Learning Lab invited young children to
conduct fascinating experiments in biology, chemistry, and
physics. They could even earn their own “Research Diploma”.
