Course Overview<br />
I already look forward to meeting you all on May 28th, June 2 nd and June 3 rd for an Introduction to<br />
<strong>European</strong> <strong>Tax</strong> <strong>Law</strong>. This course examines the influence of <strong>European</strong> Community law (fundamental<br />
freedoms, directives) on the domestic tax systems of the EU Member States and discusses <strong>European</strong><br />
Union tax policy. It will follow along the lines set by the attached Powerpoint presentation; the<br />
additional readings and materials in this compilation should help you prepare for the course and the<br />
exam.<br />
There will be an exam in this course for all students. For students in the diploma studies of law,<br />
additional coursework in the form of a brief seminar paper will be required. Details will be discussed<br />
in the session on Wednesday, May 28 th , 15:30-18:45, HS 8; the papers will be due by the end of the<br />
semester.
