The actions
A selection
In the summer of the World Cup, local
alliances were active everywhere
throughout Germany in order to
inform the “man and woman on the
street“ about human trafficking and
forced prostitution, and to collect
signatures for the Final Whistle policy
recommendations.
A very wide array of groups and
organizations became actively involved
in the campaign. Many alliances
included groups that had never before
worked together on a local level. This
diversity within the local alliances
was also reflected in the national
network of the Final Whistle campaign.
By forming such a broad coalition of
large organizations, the campaign was
able to raise awareness of the issue
throughout many different layers of
society.
An extensive list of the local alliances
and their respective actions was
compiled during the evaluation of the
campaign. This brochure shows only a
few examples.
The Berlin Alliance
Coordinated by the Final Whistle

joined in this action committee: the
Berlin women‘s rights and human
rights groups of amnesty international,
the Working Committee of Social
Democratic Women in Berlin (AsF
Berlin), the Berlin BücherFrauen
(Women‘s Publishing Association),
the Berlin State Green Party (Berliner
Landesverband der Grünen), Evas Arche
(Ecumenical Women‘s Centre), the
Berlin Young Social Democrats (Jusos),
the Berlin chapters of the German
Catholic Women‘s Federation (KDFB)
and the German Catholic Women‘s
Association (KFD), the Berlin State
League of Liberal Women (FDP), the
Berlin state chapter of the ver.di trade
union, and many more.
