8.2 Qualitative analysis<br />
As mentioned above the OSP (Other Sensory Perception) is the single top category<br />
of all metaphors and appears in all ranking lists among the top categories being the<br />
first also in the fields of “thinking”, “acting” and “sensing or feeling health”. It seems to<br />
be a key category for contributing to the dominant concepts and mental models for<br />
health among osteopaths. Frequent metaphoric expressions are:<br />
HEALTH AS A sensory (feeling, sensing) EXPERIENCE (personal and professional),<br />
PERCEPTION, UNDERSTANDING, BELIEF.<br />
HEALTH AS AN AWARENESS (bio-psycho/emotional-social), INTUITION, STATE<br />
OF BEING, CONFIDENCE:<br />
HEALTH AS THE HIGHEST VALUE (HAPPINESS, FREEDOM, PEACE).
