approach to marine aquariums. Special importance has
been given to the decomposition of nutrients by stimulating
a healthy microbiological balance and controlling the
water chemistry. As a result BIO-ACTIF provides a nurturing

to natural conditions for fish and corals than found in any
other aquarium system.

The revolutionary slowfilter system by Tropic Marin ® effectively
removes phosphates and discolouring organic

im Wasser. Mit diesen Tests kann die Karbonathärte resp.

reichen für ca. 100 Anwendungen.

Optimal water values, absolutely necessary especially for

hardness. With this test, the amount of the magnesium and

TEST
For the determination of the carbonate hardness or the alkalinity
in freshwater and saltwater respectively. The carbonate
hardness or alkalinity corresponds to the buffer capacity of the

Zur Bestimmung der Calcium-Konzentration in Meerwasser.
Calcium ist eine der Hauptkomponenten des Meerwassers
und ein wichtiger Wachstumsfaktor für kalkskelettbildende
Lebewesen wie Steinkorallen oder Kalkalgen. Die Calciumkonzentration
nimmt durch den Stoffwechsel der Organismen und
durch Ausfällung kontinuierlich ab. Deshalb ist eine sorgfältige
Messung des Calciumgehaltes und die regelmäßige Nachdosierung
von Calciumionen Voraussetzung für die Erhaltung
naturnaher Lebensbedingungen im Aquarium. Mit diesem Test
kann erstmals der Calciumgehalt gemessen werden, ohne daß
die hohe Magnesiumkonzentration das Resultat verfälscht. Die
Empfindlichkeit von 4 mg/l pro Tropfen Testreagenz garantiert
eine bisher unerreichte Genauigkeit. Die Testreagenzien reichen
für ca. 50 Anwendungen.
TROPIC MARIN ® MAGNESIUM-CALCIUM-COMBI-
TEST
Zur Bestimmung der Magnesium- und Calcium-Konzentration
im Meerwasser. Magnesium und Calcium werden in
den Skeletten verschiedener Korallen und Algen eingelagert
und so dem Wasser entzogen. Auch Ausfällungen verändern
die Konzentration von Magnesium und Calcium im Aquarium
laufend. Die Konzentration beider Elemente muss regelmäßig
kontrolliert werden, um die zu ergänzende Menge an Magnesium
und Calcium zu bestimmen. Der Magnesium-Calcium-Combitest
ermöglicht die exakte Bestimmung beider Einzelkonzentrationen
in einfachen Schritten und gewährleistet dabei eine äußerst hohe
Messgenauigkeit und Reproduzierbarkeit. Die Testreagenzien
reichen für ca. 30 Anwendungen.

of saltwater and largely determines the growth rate of organisms,
which form calcareous skeletons like, for example stony
corals and calcareous algae. In the marine aquarium, a regular
addition of calcium ions is necessary because of the constant
decrease of the calcium concentration caused by the metabolism
of the organisms and by precipitation. Careful supervision of
the calcium content in the marine aquarium ensures optimal
and lifelike living conditions for all calcareous organisms. With
a sensitivity of 4 mg/l, the Calcium-Test by Tropic Marin ® is
the most accurate calcium test available. Special reagents intentionally
make use of the high magnesium concentration of
the seawater, which usually interferes with aquarium calcium

For measuring magnesium and calcium concentrations in
saltwater. Magnesium and calcium concentrations and the
ratio between these two elements are constantly changing in
marine aquaria due to assimilation into the skeletons of corals
and coralline algae and the process of precipitation. A periodic
check of magnesium and calcium concentrations is necessary
to determine the amounts of these elements that need to be
added to the aquarium in order to restore them to natural seawater

und blockiert lebenswichtige Funktionen. Mit
diesem Test kann die Ammonium-Konzentration von 0,01 bis
3 mg/l bestimmt und – bei bekanntem pH-Wert – anhand einer
Tabelle in die Ammoniak-Konzentration umgerechnet werden.

Zur Bestimmung der Nitrit- und Nitrat-Konzentration in
- Süßwasser und Meerwasser. Nitrit (NO ) ist eine für Fische

und Wirbellose in hohem Maße toxische Zwischenstufe der
Nitrifikation. Ein zu hoher Nitritgehalt – der z. B. durch neues
Filtermaterial ausgelöst werden kann – hemmt den Sauerstofftransport
im Blut und behindert die Zellatmung. Mit diesem
Test kann der Nitritgehalt von 0,01 bis 2 mg/l mittels der fein
abgestimmten Farbskala präzis bestimmt werden.
- Nitrat (NO ) ist die Endstufe der Nitrifikation und beeinträchtigt

das Wohlbefinden von Fischen und Weichtieren in geringerem
Maße. Eine hohe Nitrat-Konzentration kann jedoch das Algenwachstum
beschleunigen und das Wachstum bestimmter
Korallen hemmen. Bei Sauerstoffmangel im Becken besteht
zudem die Gefahr, daß Nitrat zum giftigen Nitrit reduziert wird.
Mit diesem Test kann auch die Nitrat-Konzentration anhand der
fein abgestuften Farbskala von 1 bis 100 mg/l gemessen werden.
Der beiliegende Nitrat-Standard ermöglicht eine Überprüfung
des Tests auf Funktion und Haltbarkeit. Die Reagenzien dieses
Kombitests reichen für insgesamt ca. 40 Anwendungen.

potentially devastating effects. With this test, the ammonium
concentration can be determined from 0.01 to 3 mg/l and - with
known pH-value - be converted to the ammonia concentration
with the help of a chart. The test reagents are sufficient for
approx. 50 tests.
TROPIC MARIN ® NITRITE-/NITRATE TEST
For the determination of the nitrite and nitrate concentration
- in freshwater and saltwater. Nitrite (NO ) is the intermediate

stage of the aerobic nitrification and is highly toxic for fish and
invertebrates. A too high concentration of nitrite - for example,
caused by new filter material – impedes the oxygen transport
in the blood and severely restricts cellular respiration. With this
test, the nitrite content can be accurately determined from 0.01
- to 2 mg/l with the finely tuned colour chart. Nitrate (NO ) is 3
the final stage of the aerobic nitrification and impairs the well
being of fish and invertebrates to a lesser degree. But high
nitrate concentrations can accelerate algae growth and impede
the growth of certain corals. Oxygen shortage in the aquarium
may cause the reduction of nitrate to poisonous nitrite. With
this test, the nitrate concentration can be measured from 1 to
100 mg/l with the finely tuned colour chart. Includes nitrate
standard to check function and shelf life of the test reagents.
The reagents of this combined test are sufficient for a total of
approx. 40 tests.

Zur Bestimmung der Phosphat-Konzentration in Süßwasser
und Meerwasser. Hohe Phosphat-Konzentrationen stören den
Spurenelemente-Haushalt der Pflanzen und Korallen. Sie hemmen
Korallen- und Pflanzenwuchs in Süß- und in Seewasser-
Aquarien. Nehmen die Pflanzen nicht genügend Phosphat
auf, wird das Gleichgewicht des Phosphatkreislaufes gestört.
Starkes Algenwachstum oder eine Wachstumshemmung bei
Steinkorallen sind die Folgen. Mit diesem Test kann die Phosphat-
Konzentration anhand der Farbskala von 0,05 bis 3 mg/l genau
bestimmt werden. Der beiliegende Phosphat-Standard ermöglicht

All the features of the modular SunaECO system in a single
high-quality lighting fixture. You will get the “shimmer
effect” and excellent performance plus high energy efficiency,
all integrated in a slim and elegant housing. Heat is
effectively dissipated away, so that no energy-consuming
cooling fans are needed. Therefore, the
SunaLED can be placed directly above the water, which
eliminates loss of light and reduces the consumption of
electricity. All elements of the lighting fixture are adjustable
to provide every aquarium with the perfect light. SunaLED is
available in three standard sizes and two standard widths.
It comes with a three year guarantee on all LED elements
(one year guarantee on the power unit).

SunaECO-Modulsystem
Die Einzelmodule des SunaECO-Modulsystems unterschei-
den sich in Form, Leistung und Lichtfarben. Sie können
beliebig miteinander kombiniert und mit den praktischen
Befestigungshilfen des optionalen MMS-Systems auf
vielfältige Weise installiert werden. So können Sie Ihr
Aquarium ganz individuell ausleuchten und mit Lichtfarben
gestalten. Änderungen lassen sich mit wenigen Handgriffen
vornehmen. Durch Hinzufügung weiterer Module können
Sie jederzeit die Beleuchtung verstärken oder an die Bedingungen
eines neuen Aquariums anpassen.
TROPIC MARIN ® SunaECO 500
12 W ( 5 x 2,4 W) Power-LEDs CREE* XR-E für eine wirkungsvolle,
sehr natürlich erscheinende Aquarienbeleuchtung.
Erzeugt bei ausreichender Bewegung der Wasseroberfläche

SunaECO Modular System offers units with different shapes,
performances and light colours. They can be combined
any way offering versatility of lighting options, customized
configurations and different colour scenarios. Special
Modular Mounting System (MMS) accessories available for
easy mounting and expansion. By adding more modules
the systems can be easily adapted to intensify the lighting
for more light demanding corals or to meet the light
requirements of a new aquarium.
TROPIC MARIN ® SunaECO 500
12 W ( 5 x 2,4 W) Power-LEDs CREE* XR-E. Highly effective.
Designed for natural-looking aquarium lighting. Creates
“shimmer effect” with sufficient movement of the water
surface. With the 90° angle it illuminates the tank evenly

Excellent Performance and High Energy Efficiency
An aquarium lighting fixture has to provide enough natural
light in the right spectral range for the animals and plants in
an aquarium. The shape, material and surface of the reflectors
all have an effect on the performance. Arranging the reflectors
in the correct way helps to distribute the light evenly. For our
Suna lighting fixtures, we use only the finest quality aluminium.
All reflectors have a high gloss finish. We guarantee a highly
effective, clear light with no shadows.
The OptiReflex ® -reflectors we use in many models are so
effective that 95% of the light is reflected into the aquarium.
These reflectors are fitted with several additional and extremely
thin layers of aluminium that increase the reflective capacity.

Um eine möglichst breite Ausleuchtung zu erzielen, wird in
den meisten Suna T5-Modellen ein großflächiger Monotrapez-
Reflektor eingesetzt. Die hochglänzende Leuchtenunterseite
strahlt einen Teil des von der Wasseroberfläche reflektierten
Lichts zurück und verbessert so die Lichtausbeute im Aquarium.
Als Alternative bieten wir gegen Aufpreis einzelne enger
strahlende Profil-Reflektoren an. SunaSINUS-Modelle sind
standardmäßig mit Einzelreflektoren ausgestattet.
Die Relief-Struktur der Reflektor-Oberfläche der Halogenme-
talldampflampen gewährleistet eine gleichmäßige Verteilung
des Lichts im Aquarium. Gegen Aufpreis bieten wir auch bei
Halogenmetalldampfleuchten attraktive, glatte Spiegelreflektoren
mit OptiReflex ® -Veredelung.
Bei Modellen mit Vario-Reflektorverstellung können die Reflektoren
mit wenigen Handgriffen von aussen um – je nach
Modell – 12 -19 cm verschoben werden (bei dreiflammigen
Modellen sind es nur die beiden aussenliegenden Reflektoren).
Eine auf dem Gehäuse angebrachte Skala erleichtert die
symmetrische Ausrichtung. So kann das Licht verändert und
an eine wechselnde Ausstattung oder Größe des Aquariums
angepaßt werden.
Most Suna T5 models feature a large monotrapeze reflector
that distributes the light throughout the aquarium. The polished
undersurface of the lighting fixture catches the light reflected
by the water and sends it back into the aquarium. Focussing
single reflectors are available at an extra cost. SunaSINUS
lighting fixtures all come with single reflectors.
The reflector surface of our metal halide units are textured,
which facilitates an even distribution of the light. You can also
buy at extra cost attractive polished mirror reflectors with an
OptiReflex ® finish for metal halide units.
The reflectors of all lamps featuring Vario-Reflector-Adjustment
can be easily adjusted by – depending on model – 12 to 19 cm
(4.7-7.5 in) from outside. (With models with 3 metal halide units
only the two external reflectors are adjustable.) The chart on
the lamp housing makes adjustment easy. That way, light can
be adapted to a changing decoration or size of the aquarium.

Alle Suna T5-Leuchten werden über elektronische Vorschaltge-
räte betrieben. Das verringert die Belastung der Leuchtmittel.

Brennern der Halogenmetalldampflampen verwenden wir nur

All Suna T5 lighting fixtures are powered by electronic ballasts,
which lower the stress on the bulbs. Our lighting fixtures make
no sound and do not flicker, which makes them ideal for use
at home. The bulbs of our metal halide lamps feature digital
ignition. Some models with metal halide bulbs come standard
with electronic ballast.

FOCUS-Reflector technology for high performance and
efficiency. Elegant T5 lighting fixture featuring the brand
new FOCUS single reflectors. The exit angle of the light was
exactly calculated especially for the use above aquariums.
In addition, we have also improved the geometry of the
reflector. FOCUS reflectors provide a very effective glare
cover and direct the light down into the deeper areas of
the aquarium almost without any loss of intensity. Our
tests have shown that the PAR values rise by up to 30%
compared to conventional reflectors. 1 With SunaFOCUS,
fewer T5 fluorescent tubes are needed to provide large

lamps make no noise and do not flicker. Large ventilation
areas keep the temperature low, which protects the lamp
and prevents a resulting increase in water temperature.
Single reflectors with an OptiReflex ® finish focus the light,

Schraubfassungen (E40)
Professionelle ein- oder zweiflammige Halogenmetall-
dampfleuchten mit 2 x T5 Leuchtröhren für 250 W- oder
400 W-Hochleistungsbrenner. Mit besonders großen Reflektoren
für sehr tiefe Aquarien oder sehr hohen Lichtbedarf.
Die digitale Zündtechnik ist lautlos und sicher.
Die getrennten Zuleitungen erlauben separates Ein- und
Ausschalten der T5-Leuchtröhren (gemeinsam) und der
Halogenmetalldampflampen-Einheit. Mit verschiedenen
Lichtfarben lassen sich natürlich wechselnde Lichtverhältnisse
simulieren.

Praktische Deckenaufhängung mit stufenloser Höhenverstel-

fixtures with socket E40
Professional single- or two-bulb metal halide lighting fixture
with 2 x T5 fluorescent tubes for a 250 W- or 400 W-high
power bulb. Fitted with especially large reflectors for deep
aquariums needing a lot of light. Silent and safe digital
ignition. The separate supply lines allow the T5 fluorescent
tubes and the metal halide unit to be switched separately.
This allows simulation of different, natural lighting conditions
with different light colours.
