LUNS The Hague, 8 April 1960 With reference to article 7, paragraph 1, of the Frontier Treaty signed today, I have the honour to inform you as follows : The Netherlands and German delegations have jointly determined that railway property situated in the Elten area, including movable stock pertaining thereto and the proceeds of any sale or expropriation of business assets, is public property for the purposes of article 7, paragraph 1, of the Frontier Treaty. In the execution of this Treaty, the Netherlands Government will ensure that the railway property in that area is transferred to the German Federal Railways. Such railway property is not subject to any encumbrances or liabilities other than those which existed on 23 April 1949. Accept, Sir, the assurances of my highest consideration.
