2. Transfers of land in accordance with the terms of articles 75 to 79 shall not<br />

-be subject to the consent of the Crown under the terms of article 1, paragraph 2, of<br />

the Netherlands Act of 24 January 1952 containing Certain Provisions with respect<br />

to Crown Lands.<br />

3. The recording of conveyances in the land register, as mentioned in article 78,<br />

shall not require the declaration of the Land Court prescribed in article 20, paragraph 1,<br />

of the Netherlands Act concerning the Alienation of Agricultural Properties.<br />

4. Transfers of land in accordance with the terms of articles 75 to 79 shall be<br />

exempt from Netherlands registration fees (registratierechten).<br />

5. All other expenses in connexion with transfers of land in accordance with the<br />

terms of articles 75 to 80 shall be borne by Deutsche Bauernsiedlung GmbH.<br />

Article 82<br />

1. The Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands has taken note of the<br />

<strong>des</strong>ire of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany that wherever possible<br />

sales should also be effected of privately-owned parcels of land situated in the<br />

Netherlands-German frontier area which were under German ownership before the<br />

War.<br />

2. The Government of the Federal Republic of Germany has taken note of the<br />

<strong>des</strong>ire of the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands that the sale should also<br />

be effected of a privately-owned parcel of land situated in the Netherlands-German<br />

frontier area which was under Netherlands ownership before the War.<br />

3. The Governments of the Contracting Parties shall leave it to the Netherlands<br />

and German interested parties to reach agreement concerning the aforementioned<br />

sales at their absolute discretion.<br />

4. The Governments of the Contracting Parties agree to such sales and shall<br />

recommend the competent authorities to give sympathetic consideration to any<br />

applications for approval of the sale of such parcels of land, provided that they are in<br />

accordance with domestic law, in particulai that relating to the transfer of immovable<br />

property.<br />

CHAPTER 6<br />

TRAFFIC CROSSING THE FRONTIER ON LAND AND VIA INLAND WATERS<br />

Article 83<br />

The Contracting Parties shall, through close co-operation between the competent<br />

authorities and agencies in the two States, endeavour to ensure the improvement of<br />

all traffic links across the frontier on land and via inland waters which are of mutual<br />

interest for traffic between their territories.<br />
