Repairs and Service
Always disconnect power cord before opening up the unit. Do not attempt any repairs
except exchanging the lamp-module, see Section 4.3 and 4.4. Refer all other repairs to
an authorized service center.
High voltages are present inside unit.
1.5 Field of Application (Intended Usage)
The UV Wand System UVA 97033 and the UV Wand System UVC 97034 are suitable
for the curing of LOCTITE UV Products at industrial workstations such as in shops,
laboratories and automated assembly lines.
The radiation spectrum and performance provided is matched specifically to the
requirements of UV and light curing adhesives and coating materials, allowing product to
cure rapidly to form a dry, non-tacky surface (best with 97034).
The UV Wand System contains controller, UV shutter, starter, timer, cooling fan, a UV
meter and the lamp module. The opening times of the shutter are adjustable whereby
exact and repeatable curing results can be obtained. It contains also the power supply
unit and all controls for operating the system.
The liquid light guide has to be ordered separately, but it is delivered with the system.
With proper operation of the UV shutter, the UV lamp is also effectively shielded so that
no danger to operating personnel occurs.
Selection of the UV Wand System
The UV Wand System 97033 should be used if fast curing of UV adhesives, is required.
UV Wand System 97034 should be used for applications requiring fast curing of UV
adhesives with additional UVC light exposure for quickly achieving a non-tacky surface.
