5.2 Start Exposure Time
There are 2 possibilities for starting the exposure time available.
Starting via Button START or Footswitch
Time Controlled Mode:
To start the exposure time push button START or press footswitch. The concurrent time
is displayed in the main window TIME. The exposure cycle stops when time is run off.
Continuous Mode:
The length of the start signal defines the length of the exposure time. It lasts as long as
the footswitch or the START button is pressed.
Starting via a Higher Ranking Controller
Via the interface XS2 starting of an exposure cycle is also possible.
The length of the exposure time is defined by the length of the start signal and is
controlled by the higher-ranking controller.
5.3 Working with the Light Guide
• Position the light guide so that the light cone is directed to the adhesive. The distance
should be no closer than approximately 6-8 mm (appr. 0.25 inch) to prevent vapors
from accumulating on the wand. Distance and exposure time should initially be
monitored to be sure that the adhesive or substrate is not overheated or discoloration
will happen.
5.4 PLC Interface
The unit is equipped with an interface for computer-controlled systems. This interface
permits you to control and monitor six important system parameters via Programmable
Logic Control units. The interface is galvanically isolated from the power supply by optocouplers
only for incoming signals, and is read out by means of the external voltage
supplied by the PLC unit only. Outgoing signals are controlled via relais (24 VDC,
200 mA), see Section 9.2.
The following functions are available:
– Action (Input signal):
Timer start in time mode
Shutter open in continuous mode
– Signal (Output signal):
System overheated
Lamp ready / full power
Shutter open
Ignition successful
